One of the most multi-cultural and multi-faceted cities in the world, Toronto is a welcoming cosmopolitan community. Its urban sprawl of city blocks, skyscrapers, modish cafes, chic shops, and up-till-dawn clubs is balanced by an expansive network of parklands, beaches, lakes and recreational facilities. It always has its thumb to the pulse, with something new going on or being built, and an overall energetic vibe. Ethnically diverse, the city has a vivacious cross-section of options when it comes to dining, entertainment, festivals, and events. Whether you're attracted by vintage cinemas and antiquing, hiking trails and river rafting, or luxury shopping and spa weekends, Toronto has you covered. Best of all, it preserves its history while also being thoroughly modern, with streets going from contemporary cool to Victorian in under a minute. The city is a fun amalgamation every step of the way!

Scaramouche Pasta Bar & Grill

Scaramouche has long been celebrated by customers and critics for its unwavering commitment to making each dining experience a memorable one. Chef/owner Keith Froggett's sophisticated cuisine is presented simply with care and attention to detail. The serv

Only a tiny number of restaurants make it to their 35th anniversary and even fewer that continue to excel and exceed expectations. Scaramouche is one of this very rare breed. Our recent dinner was superb from start to finish - the service crisp, the food amazing and the views over Toronto's skyline to die for. The cod fritters were on of the best versions I've ever had and the presentation - and taste - of the Caesar salad is top notch. The cod entree had a wonderfully crispy topping, was perfectly cooked and served with just the right amount of mixed vegetables. Everyone at our table enjoyed their dinner and the two desserts we shared - the coconut cream pie and chocolate nougat - were a perfect ending to the meal. We'll be back for sure!

Library Bar at Fairmont Royal York

Reviewed By RanleighReview

Joined a friend at the infamous Library bar within the Royal York Hotel. Small and quaint with a mish mash of furniture to make it seem like a U of T frat house. They were busy and clearly the staff can't keep up. Asked 3 times for a refill of the snacks and they never came. A refill of water does not exist. Wanted to eat light - ordered the Falafel - at $16 - thought it might be a little better or unique compared to a street place but sadly I was very wrong. Worst sandwich I have ever had. The 3 falafel balls were burnt - way over fried. Wrapped in basic pita and that's about it. I can get a far better sandwich for $6 than my meal last night. Not sure what the big deal of this place is but with all the amazing downtown restaurants and boutique hotels to choose from - don't bother with this place. You can do far better!Thank you for sharing your review. We are truly sorry to learn of the disappointing experience you had with us. We can assure you this is certainly not indicative of the level of service or quality experience we are known to provide. Your feedback is appreciated and we have shared your comments with our Management Team for internal review and follow-up. It is our genuine hope that we will have an opportunity to better serve you in the future and restore your trust in our restaurant. - Meaghan, Guest Experience Specialist

We were in town for a wedding and this is across from our hotel. They have live music but was closing out the set a little after we got there. Server was friendly and food was great, wine not bad either. There are quite a few good restaurants in this area but I don't think you can go wrong by coming here.

Bosk

Having stayed at Shangri La, we have had our daily breakfasts at Bosk; in addition on the day of our arrival we had our dinner there. Meaning, our review withstood the challenge of repeated experience, and the result was entirely positive. The à la carte breakfast options are numerous; in addition to your usual breakfast fare, Bosks serves such morning delicacies as "Full English" (two eggs any style, crispy potato, baked beans, mushrooms, grilled tomato, back bacon, pork sausage, choice of toast), "Wellness" (egg white frittata, avocado, sauteed spinach, green asparagus, zucchini, cherry tomato, feta cheese, choice of toast), Scallion Pancakes (two eggs any style, sesame hoisin), and Chinese Dim Sum (choice of pork with shrimp & scallop or crystal shrimp or mushroom/vegetarian; it requires about 15 minutes' wait), among other excellent choices. A breakfast buffet offers great selection of freshly baked pastries, ham, salami, and the excellent local lox. Our 4-course dinner featured such delectable dishes as Northern Divine Caviar ("carbonara", hand cut cappellini), Cumbrae's 40 Day Dry Aged Ribeye (pain perdu, rapini, onions), and Smoked Quinoa & Cucumber (yogurt, candied tomato, fennel pollen), to name just a few. The dinner prices are quite good, $90 for 4-courses pp, with the portions of a decent size, not small plates usually featured in tasting menus. The other great gourmet choice would be the Chef's Signature Tasting Menu, priced ar $135 pp and available upon request between 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm. Chef's Signature Tasting Menu includes 8 small plates. Of course, à la carte choices are also available. As mentioned, the food was very good, top-notch. Even the usual mundane "breakfast suspects", such as scrambled eggs or omelette were perfectly cooked and presented nicely. The service was very good, the dining area great, spacious and comfortable, without tons of tables squeezed too close to each other. With your back to the lobby's lounge, we would recommend you request a table on the left, by the floor-to-ceiling windows, which allows for watching the city life passing in front of you.Definitely recommended. We will certainly come again next time in Toronto.

We had a wonderful evening with great service by “Sam” and Miriam (sangria cart), and passionate gentleman slaw salad mixer. Nice ambiance and so much flavour in everything, including the vegetarian veggie sampler and spicy tofu. Partner enjoyed his tuna side and grilled octopus. Peanut butter chocolate bar dessert very rich & delish. Will definitely go back. Fruit filled sangria, great start!
