We promote Arts and Crafts of the Swahili culture offering worskshops and products entirely made in Zanzibar. Come and visit our workshop in Kijichi and learn how to dye your own batik, make a spiced soap or screen-print a tee-shirt. Our Stone Town shop sells handmade kikois, screen-printed bags and beautiful batik kangas. Karibuni wote!
Had such a great time at Mussa’s workshop. We turned up at his studio and were immediately welcomed and made to feel right at home. Mussa guided us through the entire batik process and was very patient with me as a complete novice. He also brought out the creative side of me which I didn’t know existed! In the end I was very happy with the 4 napkins I made (I am completely useless at art but was surprised by how cool they were and will actually use them at home!). In addition we were served a great lunch and tea throughout the day. All in all my favourite experience in 2 weeks in Zanzibar!!!

Learn how to make authentic Zanzibar food. We meet in Darajani market to choose our ingredients, before heading out to a spice farm on a private car From there, you will have an hours spice tour and then join me to cook some delicious lunch from a traditional Zanzibar home with spice tour offer.
If you’re looking to experience local culture with local people, this is for you! My friend and I had. A wonderful time shopping at the market with Lutfia, touring the spice farm in her village, and cooking a wonderful meal full of food that she makes regularly for her family. We felt very at home, and learned so much about different plants, herbs, spices and fruits that are native to Zanzibar, sampling each as we toured the farm. The cooking experience was very interactive, where you learn to cook the way local people do - sitting on the floor, using a coconut chair to shred coconut to make fresh coconut milk, and cooking everything over fire and hot coals. This was among the best meals we had in Zanzibar, and we were grateful to be shown this experience.
