Great experience. There is a cave and a chameleon centre which have seperate entrance fees. The place was easy to find - you can get public transport (dala dala)or a taxi. It is well signposted from tbe main road and about a 10 minute walk. There were cool stalagmites, crab spiders, bats and lots of interesting things to see. The cave was apparently discovered in 2013. This is a must visit and a nice change from the beaches.

Kuza Cave offers a unique experience for adventurous nature-lovers. Discover the ancient limestone cave and crystal clear healing mineral water pool. See artefacts from the cave and a timeline of Swahili history going back to the beginning of our story as humans originating in East Africa. You will walk across a small bridge and a few steps to the base of the well-lit cave to find a large pool formed by a subterranean river. The area is a wildlife sanctuary for dozens of monkeys, birds, butterflies and bushbabies. Our Culture Centre invites you to enjoy Swahili music, drumming and dancing with our onsite artists. Stay for the day and learn the secrets to Swahili cooking. You will learn how to gently blend Zanzibar spices and make fresh coconut milk curry. Don't miss out on discovering this hidden gem tucked away in the tropical jungle of Jambiani - you will be surprised!
Last week we visited the cave and then spent the afternoon at the Culture Centre, which was easily the best part of our trip! We got to take a Swahili cooking lesson and eat what we made while chatting with the locals. We also got to participate in a very lively drumming lesson! It was great meeting Natalie and getting to talk to her about all the great work the culture centre does and I highly recommend a visit!!!

Great place, good guides, beautiful caves and interesting stories. You should bring your sense of adventure because you will go through some short but narrow paths.

We had a guide through Gibbs Farm, Gabriel, and he was incredibly knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. He must have rattled off a dozen cures for various ailments (including cancer)! We saw 17 elephants that day! Gabriel said there are usually only two or three, so don't count on such a bounty, but I was surely blessed. They gouge the caves out with their tusks so they can eat the dirt. They need the minerals to make their bones strong. It was a wonderful hike through a gorgeous setting! Watch your step, since you share the trail with quite a variety of animals. Gabriel saw a mongoose, which was out of sight by the time I looked up, and we saw scat for Cape buffalo and some gazelles. Gabriel may have had a gun on him, but I wasn't aware of that. I felt completely at ease with him taking the lead.
