This is one of my favorite little coffee houses. Locally owned. You can order your typical specialty coffee drinks (They make a very chocolatey mocha latte), teas and hot chocolate. Their prices are very reasonable as they try and stay competitive with the chain stores while selling coffee of a much higher quality. They also have a pretty extensive menu of craft beers as well as liquored up coffees. The food options are slim but there is something for everyone. If you like lemons, their lemon scone is amazing (even my kids will pick that over any of the other sweets). They have pastries (including a vegan free and gluten free option), oatmeal, sandwiches and soup. Visit at night for musical guests, poetry readings and trivia nights. Lastly, the owners and staff have great personalities and are always friendly and helpful.
This place has everything for the FSU students and staff. A convenience store, a pizza & sub place and they even have lottery. The owners really know what they are doing with this place. They offer delivery which must help their business 4 times over.

We recently opened Summer St. Cafe in January and have over 20 years experience in the food industry. Our goal is to provide our customers a comfortable and affordable dining experience. We serve breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday with breakfast al
This is the former City Hall Cafe that was located in drab downtown Fitchburg with limited street parking. The cafe has been refreshed by moving to a busy, easily accessible location with more onsite parking. The restaurant inside is bright, open, comfortable and the staff is friendly as always. Two of my friends and I ordered the Mediterranean fish that was plentiful and super delicious. It came with a tasty coleslaw and delicious beets. They had unfortunately had run out of baklava.Definitely recommend anyone in the local area near Summer Street and John Fitch Highway to stop at the Summer Street Cafe for delicious local homemade comfort food.

I had a lovely, healthy lunch here. My "Mother Earth" salad was filled with super nutritious ingredients (kale, grilled root veggies, organic brown rice, grilled chicken). It was filling and tasty. My only complaint was the chewiness of the kale. Perhaps if it had been shredded into smaller ribbons, it would not have been such a workout! I loved seeing the koi swimming around while eating.

I had high hopes for this place. I must start off with saying the food overall was excellent I had the Bacon, Sausage, Onions, Peppers, Cheddar omelet and my fiancee had the Arugula, Asparagus, goat cheese omelet both were done extremely well and tasted great. The big drawback is the service. I rate this on how fast I'm asked for a refill on my coffee which in this case never happened and where never looked in upon. So as a breakfast place for the price and service I will not be back. Sorry I had high hopes for something in the center of town.Thank you for your visit and I'm glad you enjoyed your omelets! Being a counter-service cafe, drip coffee refills are requested up at the espresso bar. I am sorry that expectations were otherwise and I do hope you will come back for another visit.

Its been years since 873 Cafe has opened and I kept hearing good things from friends and family about it. Finally, we decided to give it a shot for a lunch meeting. We arrived around 12:30 and the place was absolutely dead, we were the only people in the dining room. The set up is a confusing for those that have never been, there appears to be a dining room, bar area and another cafe type set up in another room across the hall. Service was attentive and pleasant. I ordered a Triple Decker Turkey Club with gluten free bread. It was quite good, with REAL turkey, not deli meat. I especially liked that they grill the bread vs toasting it, so it made the bread hold up to the sandwich fillings. Their homemade chips are tasty, especially with the dill dip they serve with it. The dip was so tasty I used it in my sandwich instead of mayo. The menu was varied with an American menu of burgers, sandwiches, chicken fingers, salads, etc. We will definitely be back as their appetizer menu look really good-I can see this place being good for appetizers and drinks (they have a full bar).

Visited for an early lunch with friends. I had hot lemon solstice tea done perfectly using the timer given for the table. I also had a ham and cheese croissant which was ok, but not as good as the quiche that my friends had--wished I had picked the vegetable quiche. Beautiful setting and great service. The tea and gift chop is a must-see.

We stopped in for lunch when traveling through the area. It was around 1 pm on a Saturday, but it seemed like most people were getting breakfast. Maybe that's their specialty. I got a fish sandwich and my husband had a Reuben. Both came with fresh hot fries. They were excellent. (I am picky about my fries). My fish sandwich was very good, with huge pieces of fish. My husband loved the Reuben. The service was decent. The place is pretty low-key; not much aesthetically, but a good place for a quick bite.
