Find out what Cafe restaurants to try in Luxor. The Luxor in Las Vegas is to the actual CITY of Luxor, Egypt, as marshmallow fluff is to fois gras. (We’re sure you knew that. We just enjoy analogies.) Sure, the hotel/casino in Vegas might have a beam of light visible from space, but we bet you'll find a hot-air balloon ride over the Valley of Kings much more illuminating. (Editor's note: Our list was compiled before political unrest prompted many countries to issue travel warnings for Egypt. If you're currently planning a trip to Egypt, please consider the risks and monitor your government's travel alerts.)
Things to do in Luxor
We discovered this when walking in Television Street & Mrs eLaReF, after a short ponder outside said 'Let's go in for a coffee'I pretended, like any dutiful husband to believe her and followed her in...The Ice-Cream counter is the first thing you pass & once she got involved, with the manager, about the flavours, I never heard the word 'coffee' mentioned!Ice Cream was 6LE a scoop. The manager explained they had only been opened two months. It takes up two floors, but we didn't go upstairs. Downstairs we found we were in the 'Family' area at table 29!There was a partitioned off Shisha Corner and another section also, but didn't see any label saying what it catered for

There's a shady outdoor terrace overlooking the temple as well as an indoor dining room. The menu is unsophisticated but the food we ordered (onion tart and meat-free moussaka) came piping hot - unusual for Egypt - and was clearly freshly made. There were lots of other vegetarian dishes too. This is a good place for a light lunch or a home-made lemonade when you need a sit-down in the shade after a hard morning's visiting temples and tombs, and the loos are good.

Newly refurbished, under new management and name 'Castello Restaurant & Cafe' New menu, fresh ingredients daily.
I know it has been a while since I've been there, but better late than never! I am so glad that other people have found this little gem and are continuing to enjoy the great service and food. I was staying a few nights at the Steigenberger Hotel in Luxor, and I like to venture out and take in some of the local flavor in a new place. I had not wandered very far at all before I came across Castello, and was so happy that I did. Absolutely the most welcoming and friendly dining experience, and the food was fantastic. Budget friendly, too! I wish I could have eaten every meal there. The wood fired pizza was delicious, as well as a vegetable dish (eggplant, etc.) in tomato sauce, kind of like a lasagna, but called something else that I can't remember. Please, give Castello your business when visiting Luxor, and you will not be sorry!
We were looking for something straightforward one evening and this café fitted the bill perfectly. The décor is modern, the staff were friendly and we enjoyed the food. The menu is short but everything was freshly prepared - I recommend the kofta!Kofta with salad and potato, two soft drinks and water for less than LE100 - great value.I am happy that you enjoyed your food at our caffe. Hope to see you here again soon :)

Jamboree Restaurant opened in 1997. It has everything you want to see from the views you like. We have free wifi. Support your decision and visit us, you will not regret. Thanks for people who give us their time to help us.
With a roof terrace situated above the bustling Souq, this is a great place to come, sit, enjoy a calm breeze whilst having something to eat. As vegetarians we were getting bored of eating mezzes and starters, but Jamboree has a great selection of veggie main courses that were delicious! Definitely would recommend this place, the staff are great and friendly and the atmosphere is ideal. Enjoy! Thanks for your comment and we hope to see you soon with a good health â¤ï¸

Not many restaurants in Egypt are able to keep the food standard up these days with few tourists. Not even the 5-star hotels. This one is. We enjoyed our meals and stomachs were fine too. We went here twice and if we were staying longer we would go again,
