Reviews on Cafe food in Carolina, Caribbean. Once an important center for sugar production, Puerto Rico's fourth largest city's current fortunes come from its factories. Intriguing nicknames for the city of nearly 200,000 include The Land of Giants and Arm Hackers Town. Situated on the island's north shore, this Atlantic city is considered part of the metropolitan San Juan area. Popular attractions include Carolina Beach, Casa Escute art gallery, Caribbean Raceway Park and Isla Verde Mall. To make the most of your visit, consider renting a car.

This is a place I visit often. The colors are bright, reminding you of Spain and the Soccer Team of FC Barcelona. Puerto Rico is known for their PanaderÃas/ReposterÃas (Deli/Bakeries). Most of the good bread is prepared with shortening. At La Tahona the bread is prepared with olive oil, so it's a healthier alternative. Both pan de agua (water bread) and pan sobao (oil bread) are very good. They have daily specials for lunch published in their Facebook Page. My fave is stuffed hamburger day (I've seen it on Thursdays). Try the mozzarella and chorizo one. Yum! My favorite sandwich is the pastrami. For breakfast I've had the scrambled eggs, the fried eggs and bacon, all with toasts and all excellent. Also, the Red Velvet Pancakes are amazing. You can order pancakes at any time of the day so if you have a craving for Nutella or chocolate chip pancakes at 3pm, visit La Tahona. You can order prior to arriving so your food is prepared before you arrive. But, even if you have to wait a little, the food will be fresh and amazing. In the sweets, I've tried the quesitos (phyllo dough stuffed with cream cheese), the birthday cake, vanilla cupcake with almond frosting and the cheesecake/brownie. All very very good.Merlin318 approved!
Mini donuts kiosk located at Walmart and Sam's
Stopped here when leaving Walmart. Ice cream was delicious, in a waffle cone to boot. And for .90 a piece you can't beat it. 4 different flavors I think. We tried amaretto and vanilla. Both were very good. They speak no English so ordering may be a little difficult but it's worth an attempt!
New! Espresso Lab A good cup of coffee is to be savored and appreciated - alone, with a colleague, friend or loved one. Enjoy 100% premium, single-serve brewed Puerto Rican coffee and coffee beverages prepared by professional baristas! Plus, deli sandwich
OH! The coffee in PR is excellent!. I had try a lot of coffee from different places in the world. But Puerto Rico has the best coffee ever existed.

Small, friendly family business. The decor is upscale, the food is very good and the beverages are excellent. The owner is a coffee expert, and has many blends for you to try. His english is excellent as well, which was very helpful as we made our choices. We so enjoyed our first breakfast at Marea's that we went back again.

These people should not be in the food business. At least not trying to serve the tourist population. I ordered chicken soup and it had the most disgusting bony meat in it. It did not look like a part from a chicken. I also ordered a small side salad. It was like enough lettuce to top a burger and a cut up tomato. The dressing was oil and vinegar at the table. The bottles of the oil and vinegar were dirty. My spouse ordered a ceasar salad with chicken. The chicken was flat and dry there was very little dressing. I tried to order a wine it was really awful. Stay away!

This was across the street from our condo so finally on our last morning, we ventured in. The baked goods looked amazing! I had a breakfast sandwich on a mallorca. The sweet and savory mix was fantastic!

The healthiest place to eat breakfast and have lunch in Puerto Rico. Smoothies, juices, and mouth watering breakfast and lunch daily specials.
After taking our order which took about 20 minutes after sitting down, the food arrived cold and mediocre at best an hour later! We are on vacation so thought we would be chill and not rock the boat. Our coffees never came. Who takes coffee orders and never brings the coffees at 11:00 am? Just stay away. I wish I would have read the review first. Waste of time and money.

When we arrived to PR the restaurant was closing so we made sure we got up early to eat at the restaurant. People were waiting outside the door for the restaurant to open up. Once inside I realized why, everything looked delicious. We did take out and I ate my food while walking back to our house rental. I canât wait to return to PR to eat at the restaurant again!
