Fully licensed community cafe situated on the outskirts of port charlotte on a campsite. We offer a range of breakfast, lunch, light bites and evening meals until 830pm. Our food ranges from gourmet pizzas, burgers, curry of the day, vegetarian option, ve
Amazing location and the camp site staff so friendly and helpful. The cafe sadly was a completely different. So it was festival week but it really was not that busy. We popped in for two evenings not to eat but a quick drink with the kids around 6pm. All staff were stressed and not at all welcoming. We were happy to stand at the bar but not really welcomed, we were happy to perch on a table before people arrived for their meal, not really welcome. The beer from Islay ales was great. Popped in one morning for breakfast. Left after 10 mins. Only 1/2 tables were full, we asked do we wait at the table for someone to come to us or order at bar and were told they did not know. We were told a few bacon baps would take 30 mins. Real shame and it seems, looking at other reviews we were just unlucky.

The Lochindaal Hotel in Port Charlotte is one of Islay's most traditional hotels. It is a family run establishment, having been in the MacLellan family for well over 100 years. Iain and Katie and their 5 children are the latest generation of MacLellans to
We were looking forward to checking out the new restaurant. We had experienced a Lochindaal seafood platter previously, at the Lochindaal Hotel, so we knew the cracking quality to expect. Things didnât start well, with a choice of just two white wines, but luckily the one we chose was ok. To say that service was slow was an understatement... Having arrived at 19:30, our main courses didnât arrive until 21:30. The platter didnât disappoint and the spaghetti (chilli, tomato and prawns) itself was delicious- such a shame it was made with frozen Atlantic prawns! The chips were also frozen Weâd eaten at the Port Charlotte Hotel a few nights earlier and had delicious freshly-made fish and chips. So our advice would be, unless youâre after the amazing seafood platter, go to the Port Charlotte Hotel - until this place has improved things....

Tastefully restored Victorian hotel located on the seashore in the centre of attractive conservation village. En-suite rooms enjoy seaviews out across Loch Indaal. Conservatory and gardens open directly onto sandy beach. Local seafood, beef and lamb. The
We ate here our first night on Islay at the recommendation of our B&B hosts and were not disappointed. The hotel itself is charming and the restaurant cozy and intimate. Service was friendly, but impeccable and efficient. The menu was full of locally sourced foods and had at least one or two vegetarian options. Great selection of local gins and whiskies, and good wine list. All in all, a great meal!Thank you for your lovely review, we are so pleased to have made your fist night on Islay enjoyable and do hope we can welcome you again on another evening.
Went for lunch while on holiday lovely friendly staff. Had lovely homemade soup and a panini folloed by a cake. The soup was lovely, hot and full of flavour and panini was well filled. The carrot cake so good and also tasted my companions pavlova, cakes to die for. Well worth a visit you cant possibly visit Islay and not go.

Bridgend Hotel is an 11 bedroomed country hotel with a dining room, public lounge (known as 'The Strath') and Katie's Bar which sells food in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The hotel is run by Lorna McKechnie and is owned by Islay Estates. Where poss
Although our food was OK we were disappointed with the slow and disinterested service of the young lady in charge of the dining room. Perhaps as we were the only people there we had interrupted her nap. This really put us off as there are many hotelries on Islay keen to accept our money and be nice to us.

Just finished a whisky tour, walked in and was sat down over looking the water.Didn't take long to pick the meal, fish for both, a lovely big piece of salmon and a large piece of haddock with trimmings. Service was very polite and prompt, food was lovely, could have sat there for the afternoon but more tours awaited.

My friends and I booked the harbour Inn to celebrate our 30th birthdays, we had a lovely three course meal and we were offered a selection of cocktails. The food was beautiful and the service was outstanding, the girls really couldn't do enough for us. if you're looking for somewhere decent to eat on Islay, look no further... You won't be disappointed. Thanks for an amazing meal, we'll definitely be back.

The Scallops MacLellan and the Seafood Pasta were just good, not very good, while the excellent white wine, Picpoul Pinet, was a relative bargain at 20 pounds. We all had a good time, but we expected better.
