The only good thing about this motel was the decor. The bed was hard. No one came by to pick up the trash or bring fresh towels. I had to walk down to the office and ask and was told to leave it outside the door and she would come pick it up. Stayed 3 nights and left a day early. My card was charged 690.00 for 4 nights.

Located on Historic Route 66 just south of the Grand Canyon, the Red Garter offers lodging in a beautifully restored 1897 saloon and bordello. The antique furnishings capture the 1890's atmosphere without giving up the comfort and security expected by today's traveler. Within an hour's drive see Sedona, the ghost town Jerome, Indian ruins at Walnut Canyon and Wupatki National Monuments and the Grand Canyon.
When traveling we like to stay in local hotels, The red Garter is authentic 1800's. A former bordello, it offers spacious rooms, private baths and the atmosphere of its intended use. Not inexpensive but worth a one time experience.

Small hotel along route 66. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but clean. There's no doubt they are old and could use updating but the price is right. I have no complaints and would stay there again. There was a small fridge and coffee maker in the room.

We stayed here because the price was right. It was better than paying over $250 a night at the Best Western, which is where we've always stayed before. The decor: Rustic cabin meets kind of updated Grandma's house. Wasn't a fan of the lace lampshades and curtains. Large bathroom with claw foot tub, if you're into that. Stayed here for 3 nights between Christmas and New Year, because they said there was a 3-night minimum. Other guests came while we were there but definitely didn't stay 3 nights though. Only one heat source, a gas fireplace with fake logs that you turned off and on with a remote. No thermostat to regulate it. Well-stocked Keurig in the common room outside so you had to go out there to make coffee or tea. Comfortable-enough bed, but only two pillows provided. Glad we brought our own after reading a review here. No maid service and no onsite staff, but that was okay. They provided enough towels and supplies for our stay. Except for tissue paper. They had a couple of boxes of those out in the common area. Would have liked to have one in the room. No breakfast provided, but that was okay too. Plenty of places in town to have breakfast. Our biggest issues: The noise and the lack of water pressure. There is a Lodge part of the hotel, and there is the Inn part of the hotel, which has four rooms on the ground floor. In the Lodge, I'm guessing there are rooms on the ground floor behind the common area of the Inn and that these rooms had kitchenettes. I say that because I could hear an entire conversation and pots and pans banging behind those doors when I was sitting in the common room. There were also rooms above us with families that I'm guessing were going to the Grand Canyon on the train and children stomping around at 6:30 in the morning as well as at night! There are also trains that go by but that really wasn't even an issue. Husband tried to take a shower in the morning and the water pressure was down to a trickle. Wasn't an issue for me since I take a shower at 10 or 11 pm. Also, for some reason, my tablet couldn't connect to the WiFi even though our phones could. It's not so bad if you just need a place to stay and don't want to pay an arm and a leg. When I saw that the hotel provides earplugs, I knew that couldn't be a good sign.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We spent one night within walking distance of to many restaurants, bars and shopping. The rates were very reasonable. Parking in front of you door makes unpacking quick. Seems like we had to go to the adjoining hotel to check in.

Sheridan House did not disappoint! It exceeded our expectations in every way. With a background myself in hospitality, I always find at least several shortcomings, even if minor, when we stay anywhere. I kept looking for just one little thing at Sheridan House to tell the owner about…. Not to be! Mark and Debbie are so detailed, there is just nothing but great things to say. The food Mark prepares is beyond delicious. We were able to experience two breakfasts and one “Art-Cuterie” Board that was incredible. I wish we could have experienced one of their dinners but we did not have the time on this trip. Next time we stay at Sheridan House, we will plan it so that we can have a dinner there. The rooms were so clean, linens 100%, coffee and coffee maker and the list goes on.

First, a shout-out to fellow Richmonder Caroline, who manages the place. She made us comfy, prepared great breakfasts, and helped us in many small ways—stamps for a post card, recommendations for horseback riding, super glue to fix a pair of glasses, restaurant picks. Our room was large and really quiet. Having a fridge and small table meant we could visit the local Safeway and eat a meal at the ranch. We cannot recommend this place highly enough. It is away from the busy tourist strip in Williams, something we wanted badly. It would be great for a large family gathering.

A Route 66 original. This Bed and Breakfast dates to 1909 as a lumber barrons mansion, then the bus stop and Mayors' house. Located downtown Williams and 45 minutes from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. See you soon!
We booked a room for 2 nights here. My parents were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and had planned to ride on the Grand Canyon Railway in Williams. The hotel and rooms were shoddy. The bed was lumpy, the water trickeled out of the shower. The toilet was so low that my parents needed to assist each other just to stand up. In the morning, no one could be found to make the "raved about excellent breakfast." Coffee was available, from a machine that had been programmed to have it ready. Stale danish and some cold hard boiled eggs were all that could be found to eat. After finding no one, my parents left and went out to McDonald's for breakfast. I called the Buffalo Pointe Lodge later that morning to complain. My parents wanted to stay somewhere else for that second night, but the owner refused to refund our money and even hung up the phone on me. Don't go here!
