Located 11 km from Seia city, the doorway to Serra da Estrela Mountain, Casa do Boco is an 18th-century granite house located in Meruge. Each unit is different from each other. They all include a seating area and heating, and some have a fireplace. The interiors give continuity to the rustic-style of the building.

Portugal has many B&Bs run by people who came to live here and have no other way of making a living. Not all of them are expert at disguising the fact that they'd really rather not have you around :) ...whereas from the moment we arrived, it was obvious that QdM actually IS Paradise, it doesn't just look like it! Josephine and Hans are such clever, funny, kind people that our stay in their beautiful Quinta was guaranteed to be happy and relaxed. It's the biggest pool we've seen anywhere, and the communal areas available for guest use are equally generous. Great care and attention to detail has been taken in preparing the information available to make the most of exploring the area. Another BIG plus is the very comfortable bed (many Portuguese hotels/B&Bs have rather hard mattresses), not to mention a bedroom that was pleasantly cool at night. And the quilt was summer weight, unlike many places that keep the same winter-warmth heavy bedclothes all year round! Our studio apartment was pretty and comfortable, with everything we needed for self-catering. As an added surprise, the bathroom had a very spectacular wall of rock (really, a cliff face!) on one side. A real delight to stay here, and we look forward to visiting again one day perhaps later in the year.

Has 7 representative themed rooms in the region and family experiences, the Wine Room , River Alvoco, Forest, Room of Horses , Mr. Doctor , the Olive Room and Serra da Estrela, all with private toilet, Smart TV, WiFi and central heating.It has outdoor swimming pool.

Reviewed By jjorge74Very nice and calm place. Owners very nice and always available to help guests and our logistic with young babies. We felt like home. Strongly recommend! There is no much restaurants nearby by walk but with car you can find good spots. A big thanks to Margarida for the great cheese and wine dinner, top! Joao, Raquel, Bia and Caetana.

Reviewed By Doc41This was my first trip to Portugal and it was fantastic. The country was fantastic and this guesthouse was unlike anything that I have every experienced. There was kitchen privileges, free use of washer and dryer, bed had a memory foam topper, and the room was extremely clean. There was a large communal living room where I met several very nice people from all over the world. I will definitely make this guesthouse a stop on my next trip to Europe.

The entire place is spotlessly clean and charmingly quaint, with lovely antique furniture and equipment dotted around the house. The hosts are absolutely fantastic- nothing was too much trouble and despite the language barrier, they did everything in their power to make us feel comfortable and help us out. The breakfast was AMAZING with juice, coffee, fresh fruit, pastries, cold meats, cheeses, eggs and much more. Highly recommended.
