Located in the heart of Dinan, the Maison Pavie - behind its characterful façade - offers a singular, luminous and refined haven. Enchanting, the beautiful house makes an impression with its great age and the attributes it has kept from its origins in the Middle Ages. It also charms by the elegance of its decoration and its airs of elsewhere - influences from the East and memories of the travels of Auguste Pavie, an explorer and diplomat born within its walls in 1847. With the good care of Sophie and her team, we cultivate the pleasure of welcoming, meeting and sharing. The guest house features room service. Plus, guests can enjoy breakfast, which has made this a popular choice among travelers visiting Dinan. For guests with a vehicle, free parking is available. Travelers looking to enjoy some tapas can head to La Tomate or Le Bistrot du Marché. Otherwise, you may want to check out a Mediterranean restaurant such as La Tomate. Dinan is also known for some great castles, including Château de Dinan and Chateau - Tour du Coetquen, which are not too far from La Maison Pavie. The staff at La Maison Pavie looks forward to serving you during your upcoming visit.
The historical building was restored with great taste. The place was not hard to find as it was right by Saint Saveur Church and Jerome gave excellent directions. Adjacent Street parking was easy to find. A short walk away are cafes, pizzerias and 2 very good restaurants— Fleur de Sel and Cantorberry (reservations recommended). Dinan is a big town, I found the ramparts, castle, especially the pretty port area too far to walk but then I walk with a cane. Living in a well restored old building has its pluses and minuses. Narrow winding staircase with steps not wide enough for my size 9 feet, really heavy doors, uneven floors. My “king size” bed is sized like a full bed. The mattress needs to be replaced; it is no longer flat but slopes down on the side, I felt I have to fight gravity just to change my sleeping position. On the other hand my room was huge, bright, airy and had a lot of lovely character. WiFi worked well. Breakfast is very well done. Jerome is extremely attentive and helpful. 15 years ago, I’d have loved this place. But today with less agility and more finicky about sleep and functional practicality for myself, not so.

On the spot booking when I arrived in Dinan by Motorcycle. Stephan could not have been more helpful, opening the gated courtyard to store my bike for the night. Good, clean modern room. Would rebook without hesitation.

Sylvie at Le Logis du Jerzual has been fantastic to us. We'd booked a room with them, but had to cancel due to COVID-19. She has been very helpful and flexible, and in the end gave us a full refund. We are still planning to visit the area later this year, and are hoping to stay even longer in Dinan that we had originally planned--in part to stay at Le Logis du Jerzual as a way of saying, "thank you" for treating us well.

We visited the restaurant a number of times this summer and each time had a delicious meal - both lunch and dinner. The service is very friendly and relaxed. The new proprietor, Christophe is very welcoming and a talented cook, producing homemade cakes and puddings daily. Try the tarte tatin - it's really delicious!

Hotel is in a ideal position opposite place du Guesclin with ample parking in the square and outside hotel. The Hotel is on 3 Floors and there is a lift to all floors. Our room was on the 3rd Floor a double room en suite with shower, heated towel rail, hairdryer. There was a spacious wardrobe with good hanging space as well as good size shelving for clothes. Tea and coffee facilities were available and plenty of sockets too. The room was well sound proofed. there is also a very good restaurant next door.

If u get down at Dinan Station,u willbe silenced by its eery silence.Where i hav come to-u will be muttering to yourself.Walking along the cobbled streets ur attention will first be drawn towards the half-timbered houses, with sad looking slate-coloured rooftops and four gateways, as if welcoming u,will entice u to crane ur head towards a Clock Tower in the present day municipal building in Horloge Street. You hav come to a small historical city, previously under the Dukes of Britain.Caleders will be receding backward-to a historical time. You are transported to a turbulent middle age where you see a Duke of Britain is purchasing the city from the French at sixteen thosand pound sterling only.Leave aside History. What attracts the tourists in present dayDinan? It's peace n tranquillity. In official terminology,Dinan is now under the Cortes D Armor Department of north Western France.Britain is gone, but the legacy n cultural tradition is still living. A city of just 336 squire kilometer, population being roughly 15 thousand,it merits the consideration of being beautifully ancient.Quest France says:a town that has always been open to the world. It has not only taken something from streams of visitors- from adventurous sailors to philosophers n writers like Chateaubriand or Victor Hugo-it has given them a Heavenly Repose. We saw theSaint Saviour's Basilica,The Tower of Duchess Ann,(Chateau De Dinan, theKeep n the world famous Gate of jerzual, theRamparts, with historical machicolations, strangely known as murder hole, porticulis etc.Next to these attractions, were:Rue de Horloge,Rue de l'Apport,Place des Merciers. We had a magnificent view of entire Dinan, some areas of Rural France from the top of the Clock Tower. The Port of Dinan is another one to harbour our tired soul.Oh yes,we relished the Apple Cider Wine n the famous Moules Frites at Dinan. And I end here telling my future tourists that Dinan boasts of good hotels n restaurants without burning a hole in ur pocket!

We liked our one-night stay a lot. The extremely pretty old town of Dinan is a short walk away. We had no problem parking in the street for free and discovered the train station is a 2 minute walk away. Our room was comfortable with a wide bed and a kettle with tea bags and instant coffee. There were few amenities in the bathroom. The breakfast was elegantly served and we were given a small fruit salad in addition to the standard French breakfast of bed and a croissant. As I was waiting in the drawing room downstairs in the afternoon, the host offered to bring me a cup of tea and cookies, which was greatly appreciated.
