The restaurant is literally across the street from the train station in Montevarchi. It is a modern, large open space with a main floor as well as alcove seating. On a Thursday night which with a restaurant 1/2 full mostly with families, there were only 2 waitresses who did their best to make everyone pleased. We were. The food centers on pizza but has many other choices from salads to pastas as well as meat dishes. The quality of the ingredients and preparation were all satisfactory. Presentation was ok too. It is the type of restaurant to dine with family or friends. Prices are fair value for Tuscany. Would I eat here again? Not until I have tried other restaurants in Montevarchi as I am new to the area. Would I recommend it? Yes, if someone was downtown or near the train station.

We visited this restaurant on the spur of the moment. We were welcomed with warm Italian hospitality and excellent service. We were served promptly and the food was so tasty and fresh! The spinach and cheese stuffed pasta, the Bolognese tagliatelle and the steamed chards we're to die for! I would highly recommend it! We went to the Cipresso because our landlady recommended the place; otherwise we might not have walked from the old town to this restaurant. It's not a far walk, we just would have overlooked it - and that would have been a shame, because dining at the Il Cipresso was a wonderful experience.I'd recommend having meat as your main dish (the prime are delicious, too, but beef is where the Cipresso really excels), and one of the many gorgeous wines from the wine list. The interior of the restaurant is not very traditional, but that doesn't hurt the quality of the food.The restaurant opens at 8pm, or at least it did when we were there.

We had three courses with original Tosca meals and each and every one of them was very delicious. We were there four three times, twice for lunch and once for dinner. The first lunch was pasta aldente with tomato sauce and chicken legs and breast with light seasoning. The second one was gnocchi with some kind of sauce, bruschetti with fresh tomato and salad. And for dinner we had calzone, gnocchi with sauce and thinly sliced pork meat with rosemary and some other seasoning.

Firstly, you wonât be convinced from the outside that this is an amazing restaurant as itâs not well advertised, however once you walk in the door this place comes alive. We knew we were in a special place once we noticed basically all of the townâs local businesses men were having lunch and seemed to know the staff on a first name basis. I had the spaghetti and clam pasta and it was divine. This is a true Family Italian restaurant in every sense. The food was incredible. We went back a second time and were impressed to see most of the same business men eating there again! We told our Airbnb host that we had found this place and she was delighted as it was one of her favorites. I would give 10/10 if I could.

We enjoyed an amazing dinner prepared by this wonderful family. We visited several countries and enjoyed many fine meals throughout Europe but none came close to this osteria. Everything was delicious and family could not have been more friendly. We decided to stay the night and enjoy breakfast in the morning. Do not miss this
