Although having lived here for a few years I had seen this place but never ventured in, as it just didnât seem to give the right vibes. How wrong was I? I had offered to take a local marine boat sales executive to lunch as so we had another place in mind âEl Trullâ in Fortia but upon our arrival it was closed for annual vacation. He then said we should go back to Can Carriot, and thatâs what we did.The Menu Del Dia was the princely sum of â¬10. What a surprise to have a 3 course meal including a bottle of chilled red. I had a specialty pancake, somewhat like a ârostiâ made of mashed vegetables and potatoes followed by the chicken cooked on open wood fire followed by local yogurt and honey.(They make their own Aioli which packs a punch)My guest had the Cannelloni to start followed by âchurrascaâ which is a beef cut from the ribs, again cooked on the open wood fire.A good sign is when there are plenty of customers which this place had, and was made even better by the fantastic happy service by the patronâs wife. I wish I had come here a long time ago but I canât go back in time, so for that price from now on, I will come once a week for lunch. What's left is to try it in the evening and see what that entails.

We have some long relation with EMPbrava. (20 years) This year we used as always Tripadvisor for some new recommendations. Ams popped up and I must say WOW!!! Fresh air fresh food great people working for this restaurant and not easy in high season to get this high level from into your team. You feel, see and taste this, well done and keep this level.

The food is good,reasonable price, good quality.I would suggest in the card menu to difference vegetarian and vegan options because in the desserts they have ingredients from pork... so for us who eat no meat is important to know about the ingredients.The stuff with brown uniform are not friendly :( the latin lady who comes with you to the table is very friendly but she has no idea about the food they offer ( shame) and the man in charge is very friendly. Nice place to go for sure!!!! :)

We have been going to El Dorafo for years. We use it as our 'celebration' restaurant and it has always been excellent in every respect. Last night it fell well short. Our greeting was poor, my daughters good had so much garlic, we like garlic, it was inedible. My sweetcorn was disgusting and the service was, generally, miserable.This is so far from it usual experience, we have been at least 20 times over the past 15 years, that I am willing to consider it an abboration. However, having told the waiter why there was uneaten food, whilst complimenting him on the steak, I would have expected a further conversation with a more senior person. We were very disappointed and hope this isn't the sign of a decline. I'll watch the reviews with interest to see if we should ever go again.

Stopped off here one night with my husband, daughter and my parents after browsing the shops. We normally use another restaurant for our annual night out here but thought we would try. We were so please we did, lovely fresh cooked food, nice flavors and filling too! Even put my old dad some fries with his chicken meal and didn't charge us. Hubby had duck, i had a burger, mum and daughter had bologna and dad chicken. It was 78 euro for 6 cokes, 1 beer, and 6 meals, (calamari was shared as a starter, you get lots) Staff were lovely and the air con was on nice to cool down inside. We will certainly return!Thanks for visiting us and recommending our restaurant on TripAdvisor, Hayley. We are glad you and your family enjoyed the experience. We hope to see you again soon in Pura Brasa Empuriabrava!

We definetly recommend this restaurant. The food is of such high quality, the meat and even the fish: octopus and shrimps. The roasteries from the dessert were amazing too.
