Visited with family and our dogs. We had squid for starters, which was delicious and came with a salad that someone had put effort into. Followed by pheasant, steak pie & burger. All clearly home prepared to a high standard & tasty. Relaxed atmosphere & attentive service without being intrusive. The prices are more than your standard pub grub, but then you get better food, so itâs worth it. We ate during the week but another day when in for a drink saw the Sunday lunches come out, they certainly looked good too.

Staying in the area, we were recommended to try this local pub for an evening meal.Great ambiance - warm and cosy. Lots of customers. Pool table in a separate room. Staff engaging and charming.Food promised more but the flavours and veg disappointed, chips a bit bland too. Pretty average overall, sadly, even though the prices were good. Beers all very good.

Very nicely done out restaurant. I had gammon and chips and my girlfriend had a ham sandwich, chips and soup and both meals were very tasty. It was very quiet and when the waitress wasnât around it felt a bit isolated but the food was good which was the main thing. We would eat there again if we were passing.

We had a long drive to come here but it was well worth it. It was extremely busy in the bar but peaceful in the restaurant. The staff were very friendly. The fish pie was delicious as was the salmon fish cake. The vegetables were fresh and crisp.

Visited one Friday night after reading such amazing reviews - and the reviews were spot on. Meals start at 6.30, had a drink then ordered. We had starters - garlic mushrooms and spicy prawns - delightful. Then lasagne and the steak pie with short crust pastry, how pies should be! Nothing else to say except delicious, fresh veg and piping hot. Friendly landlord, chatty and keen to make sure everything was OK. A proper country pub and we will definitely be back.

Called to see a relative on holiday near Pateley Bridge and went to Sportsmanâs for lunch. 3 of us had pork/ham/beef with salad and chips very pleased with food and presentation. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately hikers kept leaving the door open letting in cold drought while we were eating they could see we kept getting up to shut the door, how rude some people are. That would not stop us visiting again when in the area and would definitely recommend. We phoned the day before to see if they allow dogs and they do in the bar. The bar was a very nice area. Car park.

After a mornings walking around Fountains Abbey and Studley Waters decided to drive into Pately Bridge for lunch. Our venue of choice has always been the Crown Inn and we have never been disappointed. With a very good menu and wine list and also daily specials we have always come out in favour of the daily specials. The 3 of us had a bottle of wine a large coke and 3 mains from the specials board. All well prepared and excellent value for money with the bill coming in at around £25 per person..

Called in over the weekend after a long walk with the family for an early Sunday dinner.Having not been to the Bridge for a year or so, we were very impressed and will certainly return soon. We struggled to choose from the menu as everything sounded just what we were after and looked even better as we saw food being served. The food was perfect, hearty and plentiful, also well priced. The pale ale was spot on. What makes this place we felt were the friendly staff and jovial atmosphere. Friendly locals and new customers chatting and mixing well. Thanks folks, see you soon.
