Great sit down place to go with a group or by yourself. Food was reasonably priced. Great sandwiches, probably better than most âsandwich placesâ that Iâve ever been to. Fries were amazing and tasted somewhat like Rallys fries. Overall, our waitress was amazing and our drinks never ran dry. My only complaint was that it was kind of loud which is understandable.

INDIANA'S OLDEST TAVERN Serving our friends for over 178 years! Casual dining, lively, friendly atmosphere, in a historic setting. BBQ Ribs, Pasta, Steaks, more Live entertainment!
We were excited about having a day-end experience at the Historic Tavern. The on-line menu looked promising. The Street appeal added to the promise. Then we were seated. We were placed at a veneer- topped table with chrome legged vinyl clothed chairs (unappealing). Our waitress came to the table telling us this was her first day in the floor. She was nice but had little ability to overcome the disappointing decor. The dining room walls and ceiling were so rich in possibility but the Tavern management cheapened the space. Then our meal began. My wife asked for 3 different selections and was told none were availableâ they were all the healthiest of options on the menu. So we ordered a large pretzel with beer cheese. The pretzel was Luke warm, hard and had little flavor. The cheese sauce tried to overcome the disappointing delivery with little luck. We then ordered a French Onion soup. Itâs appearance was terrible. The cheese was laid on top of the cup and was not melted! It just sat there like an unmelted blanket. How much time would it have taken to put the cup in the broiler? We asked to have it warmed but were told another would be brought. It took 20 minutes. The soup then cameâand it was hotâwith our meal. My wife ordered the grilled chicken Caesar Salad. It was confusing. The plate was served on endive lettuce rather than romaine. Who do they have in the kitchen that lacks that elementary knowledge. I ordered the chicken Marsala. It was also confusingâserved in a bowl over fettuccine and smothered in a cream sauce of an unusual flavor. Neither of us could finish our meal. One of my worst ding experiences in an otherwise beautiful little town. I recommend the owners hire a decorator and a chef.

We came on a Friday night around 7:30 and it wasn't crowded. Great service, historic building in historic downtown, local art displayed for sale. Food was delicious! I had penne pasta with shrimp and my husband had the Dublin burger. Their bread is homemade fresh every day. Craft beer, different options for dinner. They also offer breakfast and lunch/brunch on certain days. Glad we tried this place, recommend to others!

Love to get some music on the jukebox and let kids pick songs. Good wings and cold beers always fun as long as tv is not loud and is used as owners living room.

Crazy place for dining on the outside. Good food, Great bar and watching boats go by.Service staff are friendly and go out of their way to assist you. Prices are reasonable. Must be able bodied to walk the "plank" to get to the boat. That is part of the fun.

On a recent weekend stay in Madison, we stopped here for lunch on the recommendation from a shop keeper. The interior didnât have any charm, but being a beautiful day, we ate outdoors. Kudos to them for offering outdoor seating! We were waited on promptly by a sweet young lady, who was attentive during our visit. My husband ordered the fish sandwich and said it was delicious. I had the club sandwich and it was fantastic...not filled with deli meat, like most are. This had a slice of fresh ham, a piece of chicken, and freshly cooked bacon. Excellent! I would definitely recommend this place!

Stopped in for dinner after we rode all day. The food was great. I tried the shrimp taco and the carnitas taco, along with chips, salsa, and guac. It was all very delicious and the beer was cold! Cute little area. We enjoyed sitting by the window and watching the action of Main St.

In Madison on business and was taken to Harryâs. Not a large bar area, but very welcoming. We ate in Restaurant enjoying draft beer, wine and spirits. I had a sirloin and it was perfect. The atmosphere was very good and didnât miss any of my Celtics game.
