We arrived in Madeira on an evening flight and needed a light meal not too far from our hotel. Maltez was a real find - pleasant location on the promenade, very friendly service, good food with generous portions, and great value. We returned several times for lunchtime snacks or afternoon/evening drinks.I'm giving them a "5" rating - not for any luxury or fancy food, but because the guys running it know what they are doing and do it so well.

Bistro is a pleasant place to meet friends, where you can drink a few glasses and share snacks. Here, our tidbits are carefully prepared by Chef Wagner Sá and presented by Ruben Noite serving team. In our Bistro the food is genuinely made with products fr
Weâre not an easy family, I am a vegetarian myself and my brother has IBS (irritatable bowels syndrome) so finding a place to dine can be rather difficult. The menu offered a lot of choice and 4 vegetarian options as well. The service was just lovely, the staff is very friendly and above all, they just want to make sure that you enjoy your evening. Tonight my brothers bowels starting acting up so he was not able to finish his meal. The concerned staff asked if there was anything wrong with the food, anything else they could offer and even how they could help him. I would highly recommend this place since the menu is a great variety between local dishes, dishes that should be on every menu and vegetarian options.Dear Mr./Mrs.,Thank you very much for your visit and for taking your valuable time to share your experience at Mercado das Tapas. We went experimenting with the feedback being so high,we arrived the employee was friendly although only speak portuguese. We ordered "minced meat" and limpets.whe waited for a long time 45 m ok whe wre not in a rush but then insted of meat he brought octopus i found it funny but i don't like octopus! I went to talk to the cook because she speaks fluent English and when I got to what they call the kitchen I was terrified it was such a tiny space where meat was store whit fish and juice and fruits it must have been about 45 degrees where the cook's sweat fell straight into the food.I just left the place feeling sick.

This is a quirky and hip burger place which provides very good food at reasonable prices. There were not a lot of tourists when we ate there but a lot of locals. We couldnât get a table outside but it was interesting to eat inside as it has some great drawings on the walls and the decoration was different from the norm. The burgers were tender and juicy and the chips were very good indeed. In some dishes the burgers do not come on buns but that didnât limit our enjoyment of them. However, if you like your burger in a bun, it is worth checking when you order. I also had lime mousse to follow which was tart and sweet at the same time. A great palate cleanser. The service was good even though they were very busy and it is also great value. A definite if you like a good burger and chips.
