I decided to take a short day trip to Estoi to view the Roman ruins and explore the city. While exploring, I came across a small restaurant with outdoor seating that seemed to have quite a few locals. It advertised traditional foods were its specialty, and being Portuguese, I thought I would give it a try. The chicken with tomatoes was heavenly and tasted like it came from my grandmothers kitchen. I closed my eyes and could picture her serving it to me when I was a child. It is located in the church square. Highly recommended!

We happened to come across this bar completely by accident and were very pleased we did! A great selection of craft beers to enjoy whilst sat out in the sunshine watching the world go by. The staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The Algarve Brewery double IPA was particularly good! We were in Faro for 4 nights and came back 3 times!

Once August over great place for a casual lunch. Friendly good service extensive reasonably-priced menu which should appeal to anyone.Personal preference believe it is best for varied entrees, excellent, rather than main course pastas which was a bit disappointing.Overall difficult to beat relaxed atmosphere and tasty snacks. The burger is really great at this place. It is different, because it is not fish. The majority of restaurants offer fish and cod fish that is the speciality. In this place you can drink a verity of beers from different regions locally and internationally, together with a great burger. It can be meat , chicken or veggie. All great options.

Easy-going atmosphere, a nice place in the shade and good food. Throw in friendly, English-speaking service and you have your definition for the âOld Tavernâ in Faro. We had three âmain courseâ tapas for lunch, which was totally sufficient, as dessert we tried both choices of cake (sponge cake - egg or chocolate), which were both to die for. Along with beer, cokes and good coffee we paid 32 EUR. Will definit stop by again when back in Faro!

they had changed their place since previous time about 2 years ago that I was there. the quality of their food is still excellent and their new place is much nicer and bigger, I loved the design. Hope to visit them again
