Find out what Bar restaurants to try in Essen. Essen began in the mid-9th century as home to a women's abbey, then during the Renaissance became an important coal mining town and later a major steel production center. The famed metal-working Krupp family opened their first foundry here in 1810. One of Essen's most interesting places is the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex, once the largest colliery in the world. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it attracts 800,000 visitors a year, often hosting art exhibitions and performances.

as the weather was good so wanted to sit out and eat and as most of the other joints surrounding it are cafes so thought why not try some Mexican but I would say that the food here was just average and everything fried so not so healthy food and we did not enjoy the food too heavy

We stopped here for a birthday treat during a road trip across Germany and Belgium, the food was nice but nothing special but the place itself is awesome inside, it's very reasonably priced and the cocktails are gorgeousthere's play areas for younger kids and arcade machines for older ones as well as an outdoor play area

Would have loved to give this little taste of Ireland in Germany 5 stars but two things let it down. Firstly, arrived in time for second half of England France rugby match to find the room half empty - great? Unfortunately not as staff then tell u every table is reserved! We chanced it and nobody came for the next 90 minutes .... very and unnessarily unsettling. Then the beer ! First pint fine and then the next two were rank. Amazing for a place that must be selling thousands of pints on a match day to get it so wrong. Nachos were good though!

We were here couple of times. The burgers offered are of varied range and one can have both veg as well as non-veg option with all of their burger style which is quite good. Veg patty is really delicious and is fresh. Buns are fresh and crispy. The place is quite spacious, so not so cosy. The service was quite good, servers are very polite and helpful and speaks english as well. They have variety of drinks including good german and belgian beers. The place can be full sometimes so one should reserve just in case.

The Brauhaus has a typical German setup with long tables and can house plenty of people. The staff is reasonable friendly as serves you fast.Food is not very special but offers large portions. Meat portions are big and good.Beer they have enough in all flavors.Nice place to return.

A very good choice of burgers (also vegetarian and vegan available) and salads. My avocado burger was excellent, I ordered a Krautknolle on the side, very good. Attentive and friendly staff.

I really like the restaurant's concept of selecting the food materials and then giving them to the chef to cook them with selecting the sauce.. its really nice and of course freshly cooked. The service however is not that great, the staff are talking to each other, ignoring the customers at times. But good food and nice experience in general

It happens often that because of good reviews end up in a restaurant and feel disappointed at the end of the dinner. I was prepared for this to happen, but my worries were for nothing. This really is a good place and I subscribe to previous reviews. A friendly waiter, proud on his restaurant, assuring us that everything is fresh, takes care for us. He does this in a genuine hospitable way. The food is authentic, I have never been there, so itâs a bit of an assumption, but a safe one. Fresh, well prepared and served with pride for the food. The taste is sensational. We had the lamb curry that was labelled as Sri Lanka street food. As a whole dish a bit dry, but part of a sharing dinner, it brings interesting textures and flavors. The other dishes, the famous chicken biryani and a lentil stew were very flavorful as well, served with rice and a roti. Prices are moderate and perhaps even low for what is offered. All in all this is really a good and sympathetic restaurant and it deserves also in this review the maximum score. Well done. Thank you :-D
