Walked to this place in town after a cool and rainy visit to the Rock of Cashel. Perhaps we approached it from the wrong direction but we walked through a gate and long courtyard to reach the place. If it had been a nice day we would have sat outside in their lovely patio area. As it was we went in. Our server was very nice and helpful. Atmosphere was very pleasant. Food and drinks were really good. I can highly recommend it.Dear Chip1701,There is access through both the front and the side of the Pub, the garden is very busy in the summer and warmer spring and autumn months. Great to hear you had a good experience and thank you so much fir recommending us, we really appreciate the comments.

My group of 4 ladies stopped in for a late lunch before heading to Rock of Cashel. It was a cold and rainy day, but when we came in, we were greeted warmly, provided a table by the fireplace and a nice hot fire was built. We enjoyed some pints and hot sandwiches, and even snagged a coupon to visit the castle. We were so thankful for the warm welcome, good food, and great service!

We had lunch here recently, largely due to the "Trip Advisor Excellent" sign outside. The interior is not great, old and shabby. I ordered the so-called " award-winning" seafood chowder and my husband ordered the cold meat platter. After waiting for 45 mins to get our food (seriously - how can a bowl of soup and cold meat take 45 mins?!), I sent back the seafood chowder as there was no seafood in it - it was essentially a big bowl of warm cream. I asked to be served whatever normal soup they had instead - it arrived - mushroom - completely salty, only tasted of salt. My husband's meat platter consisted of not fresh meat - the beef was like leather and the ham was overly salted. Totally don't recommend.

Welcome to the Rockhouse Restaurant. Traditional Irish home cooked food served daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, reminiscent of wholesome family dinners. Delicious recipes, locally produced and freshly prepared, full of our traditional food culture a
We had lunch here after visiting the Rock of Cashel on a cruise ship tour from Cobh. We walked thru the parking lot and upstairs where they had a long table set up for our large group. A set menu: vegetable soup, bread & delicious Tipperary butter, chicken pie w/ puff pastry, apple pie and coffee. A hearty and VERY tasty meal. We were pleasantly surprised as sometimes the meal incl on tours is not very good. Thank you to the Rock House for a very nice lunch! It contributed to a great day in Ireland. There were a lot of people dozing on the bus back to Cobh, including myself.

I often pass through Cashel and occasionally stop for a meal. We were starving and ordered the chicken wings - really, really hot wings starter with blue sauce dip - exactly how I like them but frankly enough for a main. Big mistake to order to the Brian Boru burger - it's a MONSTER! Excellent preparation and taste, fab chips and all arrived quite quickly - just far too much for a mere mortal... That said, if we hadn't ordered starters, we might have made a better job of finishing this meal. My fellow traveller ordered the same starter and again was defeated by the main - mixed omelette and chips - but equally really enjoyed every morsel. Would definitely return and hope the same standard (and quantity!) will be served.Only a couple of minor downsides - noise of the generator in the outside area was loud. A bit of music in the restaurant/bar would have covered this but none played plus asked a staff member what the story was behind the massive stone dog on the stone tomb but she was clueless which was a shame since this would have made a great talking point! The outdoor area was primarily used for smokers so not to our liking.

We stopped in for a bite after touring The Rock and heading to Dingle. OMG, my grilled cod over crab risotto was DIVINE, and mister loved his fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce. Tom the bartender was very helpful with our Dingle plans (we really liked Dickâs whiskey bar - thanks Tom!) The place has a comfy vibe.
