Seriously overpriced. Sydney prices in a country town. With a full bar there is no possibility of corkage. Me and a number of friends just kept to water, whereas a glass of wine would have been great, but not when 160ml costs way more than a decent bottle of plonk or 60 bucks for a bottle. My wife's gnocchi admittedly was tasty, but at $36 for something smaller than a starter. ..... My pizza wasn't bad, but it would have been a lot better if my cutlery could actually cut through the base. Our companions eventually gave up trying to cut theirs and resorted to rolling it up and eating it like a large sausage. Our group had 14 adults, and when it came to paying management refused to bill individually. It would have made life easier if they told us this up front, since they must have groups on a regular basis. We could have ordered as couples or gone to a different venue where payment is much easier. The atmosphere isn't bad (if you like loud background music) but value for money I'd give it a 1 out of 5 score.
Stopped on our way up the coast because Oliverâs is usually reliably good and prompt. Staff were very friendly and polite, but clearly out of their depth with the influx of customers. Waited 20 minutes for a smoothie, which was pretty lumpy. Coffee was quicker but just not up to par.

We were out for a romantic meal so off to the Bowls Club on the recommendation of another person. The club is good, beer good and cold and the pokies not at all good at paying. Into the Chinese Restaurant area where you queue up and then sit at great long tables like an army mess and suffer the dreadful table manner of some of the other customers. There is another adjoining room which is full of small tables, for two, or four, or maybe six, With table cloths and looking pretty good just as a Chinese Restaurant should for a romantic night out. We asked to be seated in there. Thought I had almost started WW3, but finally, they reluctantly agreed to let us in there. There was only one other table in use, by six diners. The meals finally came, but the requested chop sticks did not ever appear. This place has enormous potential. Why not exploit it? The food? Prett goody, but have had better. Saturday night.

Family friendly pub, on the banks of the clarence river. Located in between yamba and maclean, just off the pacific highway. Lunch 7 days, dinner tue - sun 6 - 8pm
On many recommendations, we came here for our anniversary. A pleasant drive fom Yamba, though a few road works in progress. The hotel is situated acros the road from the river, plenty of parking available. The place was packed, so pleased we booked a table. Chose to eat inside in the a/c, was too warm and windy outside. There was quite a queue to order lunch, however, only one person seeing to so many people. The table we had was away from the hustle and bustle, which was great. Lunch was fabulous, and our friends who joined us loved theirs as well. All in all, a very pleasant, if noisy, experience. Would return, though not the week before Christmas.

This is a small family owned business that has plenty of space for group & family meals. Breakfast & lunch on weekdays are popular here. The food meals are great & priced well. Highly recommend.

Tea on the Terrace is still alive and well contrary to my last review. The great eats, high tea's and Devonshire Tea's can still be had in Maclean, but they have moved. Their new address is:Shop 2/18 River Street Maclean.Sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

During our travels visited Maclean and went to "River Café" for coffee. Glad we did as coffee (cappuccino) was very good, frothy and flavoursome as we like. Although only a small cafe, the staff were polite & friendly and provided prompt service. Premises neat & clean.

Iâve heard many praises sung about this establishment so I decided to head there for breakfast with workmates to see if it lived up to the hype. Sadly, for me, it did not. All breakfast choices (and there werenât many) were sweet, sweet, sweet. I had a ricotta pancake, fruit concoction & frankly it was awful. A 7am smack in the face with sugar is not for me. Coffee was ordinary. Service slow. Lunch might be better, Iâll give it a go one day when Iâve recovered from my sugar intoxication.
