Firstly, this restaurant serves horse meat and bear meat. Yes you heard me right. So if you are an animal rights activists, skip this. We ordered both pumpkin and pork noodles. Stick with pumpkin vege noodle. Hoto noodles was a cross between Ban mee and hokkien mee...my Singapore/Malaysian counterparts will understand. Broth was rich but a little too salty for me. Add in their special chilli powder and the whole meal was quite potent...very nice.

We a family of 7 wanted to have an early lunch before making the trip to 5th Station of Mount Fuji. Spotted the restaurant across the station and went in- found a relatively packed restaurant, many customers left their luggage bags at the luggage holding place at the entrance. We had chanced upon a restaurant serving the local dish-Houtou noodles (flat and wide udon) in a tasty soup; this dish is only available in the Yamanashi prefecture. We had to sit at different table as there was not table for 7 of us. The 4 of us who sat together ordered 2 Houtou Noodles and 2 pork rice - that turned out sufficient for 6 people. The texture of the noodles was great and the soup was very tasty; the pork in the pork rice melts in the mouth. Great experience!

Kawaguchiko is very popular tempura shop in a lake. Morning 11:00 ~ I We are open at night until 23:00. 7 days a week Also I can lunch or dinner. Various alcohols are also available. For those of not wearing a meal travelers at the hotel, I am waiting for
Free parking space outside the restaurant but there are not many space available, perhaps only space for 3-4 cars. English menu is available, they are also vegan and Muslim friendly. Lots of information and they welcome customers to ask question if unsure. Good portion, great variety of tempura to choose from. You can get set menus or even a la carte. Spacious environment, good place to eat if youâre with a big group of friends or family.

Izakaya High Spirits is a small sized Japanese restaurant that seats 6people at the counters and 12 people in the dining area, including traditional and innovative style of tapas. Our kitchen teams have a large repertoire of ethnic recipes and ingredients
In the pretty town of Kawaguchiko under Mt Fuji, this izakaya is special little place with friendly staff, great food and drinks list. Ryan our server, who has escaped from California, was friendly and helpful. The Japanese owner was a sashimi wizard and the other dishes were really good too. Sadly it was closed last night, Monday, so we could only go there for one evening meal. I wish we had a place like this in Australia!

We are still highly confused by such high praise in reviews we read before eating here. We learned to take everything we read with a grain of salt. The staff are lovely however the food we ate (yakisoba and garlic chicken) were both so incredibly lacking in flavour that we thought perhaps our lunch burned our taste buds off. Not worth the money spent, especially since we have eaten at many fantastic izakaya before this throughout Japan.
It is a 5-minute walk from Kawaguchiko Station and it is the only shop to eat KOBE Beef in Yamanashi Prefecture. Japanese-style modern atmosphere, the floor uses tatami mats and it is settled in the store. Because the menu is English and Chinese notation,
Great choice of food in a very japanese setting! Meat gorgeous! We had bottom sirloin boneless pork rib and pork neck in a sauce which was delish and boneless beef rib and shrimp and a plate of veg for four!! Really nice restaurant

Lake Yamanaka near Fuji has a number of large restaurants on the North-Western lake side. We visited Lake Yamanaka HÅtÅ Restaurant twice during our stay at local Zero Project Guesthouse. The food was absolutely amazing on both occasions. We highly recommend a visit (or two!) to this restaurants r excellent Japanese cuisine served in a warm, cosy and friendly environment. Our first visit was during a busy lunch time service on Sunday afternoon -

Had kinoko houtou. Served in a large steel bowl with large servings of noodles (oh how thick and hearty they are!) and 6 or 7 vegetables.Very good flavor. Stable quality and service just as I expected from visiting Kosaku restaurant at Kofu train station.Excellent location in Yamanakako lakeshore area.Traditional Japanese style interior decor settings where the customers sit on tatami floor with zabuton, though there are some western style table/seats, too. The only wish to this restaurant is the pricing and the serving size. If they could provide smaller servings at lower price, that could attract more wide range of customers, as their bowls are all large and relatively expensive for noodles.
