Most ppl visiting do the buffet, at ard 15$ a person. Buffet is avg. size and consist mostly of Canadian Chinese food; chicken balls, egg foo young, lemon chicken, etc. there's also small cold plate section with ham, turkey, cold salads, lettuce and some raw veggies. Buffet has peanut butter balls, pies, jello, ice cream and some others. Overall dishes are ok, nothing too profound or interesting flavour wise. Fried dishes are a bit greasy. Basically your a g classic Canadian Chinese.Overall restaurant is fairly clean, washrooms look like they were recently redone. Servers are friendly. On other note regarding buffet, kids 2 and under eat free, young kids eat for half price ( not sure exact age range for half price)

You don't expect Chinese food to be healthy or a gourmet experience but this restaurant was awful. We ordered to take out and waited more than half an hour longer than time advised. No big deal, it was a big order. Hot and sour soup was nicely spicey but no sour at all, just a heavy beefy broth flavour with fishy tasting shrimp. General Tao's chicken was not spicey at all and a soggy mess. Vegetables in beef and broccoli and in the vegetable chop suey were overcooked to the point of mush and both dishes were oddly sugary sweet. Yuck. Singapore vermicelli was heavy with oil. It should be powdery light. Mushroom fried rice and mushroom egg foo yong were standard except mushrooms were from a can and tasted tinny. I could overlook one or two fails but the whole meal was bad and that's without very high expectations for take out food to start with.

Sit down to a delicious meal at City Light Restaurant in St. John's. Our restaurant serves up delicious dishes that are sure to please your palate. Bring your appetite and fill up on a number of our Chinese and Japanese favourites. We have a wide selectio
I always approach buffets the same way....some food will be hot, some warm and maybe some a bit cold or dried out from sitting... No restaurant can possibly keep so many things hot at fresh at the same time. City Lights did a pretty good job. Lots of fresh tasty items and I was very pleased with most choices... I even had the frog legs and duck 1st for both!!!! You will need about 4 plates fulls to try everything and lots of dessert option too!! Good service quickly seated and dirty plates quickly removed.
This little spot is a hidden gem of the west end of St. John’s. The gentleman who made the sushi was incredibly nice and the sushi was fresh, delicious and a generous serving size. The decor is very cool! Wooden bench style with Japanese cushions. I highly recommend!

I am not vegetarian or vegan, but loved the opportunity to try these dishes! It is a small, cute atmosphere and the owner/waiter doesn't stop going around to everyone making sure they have enough sauce, drinks, tea, etc and climbs stairs multiple times to the kitchen to get every dish. He was turning people away, so obviously well attended and liked restaurant.

Don’t let the shopping strip location and low profile interior turn you away. The food was succulent and perfectly spiced and the service is amazing. This was my first foray into Filipino food and the menu is a bit tricky but the servers are excellent at coaching you through the options. We sampled several dishes for a business dinner including steamed bun tacos, chicken noodle soup and the fried dumplings. All the dishes were flavorful with a mix of meats, vegetables, herbs and spices and we finished them all. Enjoy Yum

The most authentic and good asian food in Mount Pearl. It's take out or dine in. The price is significantly more that of buffet places, but definitely quality food.
