I made reservations based on TripAdvisor reviews with quite a bit of advance notice. We were six people and when we arrived at the restaurant, our party was separated with 4 people at one table, and 4 at another (which was actually in the other room). At first I thought, OK, it's a small place so maybe they couldn't accommodate us, but after the first course, the 4 top table next to us was seated with just 2 people. It made zero sense at all.The service was friendly and attentive, but rushed. We chose different wines for each course, but the timing was off with each course. Again, nothing terrible, but just not right. It felt like they are trying to be something, but not quiet sure what. When it came to the food, it was mostly good, but I have to admit that my enthusiasm at being in Bordeaux was greater than the taste of some of the dishes. The menu was interesting, but while some of us loved the food, some thought it was "nice". I wanted to love my night here, and we had a good time, but I had better food while in Bordeaux and my honest feeling was a bit disappointed. The one thing that must be said is how welcoming and nice the staff were. They were honestly friendly and full of smiles. That made some of the other things forgettable. Had the price not been what it was, I would have given one more star, but for what we paid, I feel we had an average experience.

Fresh Japanese food always a delight particularly after couple of weeks of much heavier French food. Food was very nice, good flavour, very fresh. Host was great gave us loads of helpful information on the Bordeaux wines also and places to visit. Definitely would return to this restaurant.Paid 54 euro set menu - choice of 4 entrees and 2 mains plus he gave us dessert and miso on the house!

le restaurant est petit , ne peut recevoir que 18 places assises et 7 places au bar. Le restaurant ne reçoit pas de plus de 6 personnes. Personnel souriant et généreux .
I appreciated that they had a vegan dish on the menu. I wish they had more vegan options, but hey, beggars can't be choosers, right?! The waiter was incredibly polite and spoke very good English. He was very pleasant---a great change of pace from the rude waiters and customer service in Paris. Overall, the vegan dish was OK. However, the customer service was excellent!

Do not pass this place.... we were turned away from another Chinese nearby and were so glad they did! The noodles are to die for.. I had prawn and vegetable and my partner had chicken and they were so fresh and tasty and filling just a perfect balance of flavours.. super quick service as well.. it's not a 5 star surrounding but don't let that put you off it's a gorgeous little gem!!

HUTONG Restaurant will re-open on the 16th of July for lunch (12:15 to 2:30). All the classics from the streets of Singapore to Bordeaux: Chicken Rice, Laksa Lemak, Bak Kut Teh, Chicken satays...
Just back from visiting Singapore & missing the food courts & street food, especially Hainanese Chicken Rice so we headed to Hutong when visiting Bordeaux yesterday & were not disappointed, the Ravioli in Black vinegar soy sesame sauce was exceptional. We will be back. First rate service & loved the Iced Chrysanthemum tea

We are not Chinese food experts but the food was pretty good. Decent size portions and reasonably prized. Excellent, friendly service and a nice atmosphere. Both the porc au caramel and poulet l'ananas were quite good and the cantonese rice very tasty. Would go there again.

Japanese & French couple work with French chef and Michelin starred Chef (American Japanese) to create Franco Japonais cuisine, ingredients come from local region with Japanese tint to pair with extensive regional/French/world wine selections. For the win
We had dinner here last week and Iâve been thinking about what I should say for all that time. This was one of the best meals Iâve ever had. If you take note of the number of reviews (therefore, meals) under my belt, youâll see that says a lot. Each course arrives without description or explanation. Presentation is drop dead gorgeous. When the plates are cleared, we discuss what we just ate. Innovative concept and reminds the diner to pay attention to the food, the tastes, the textures. It is so easy to fool the palate unless we fully concentrate. Nothing is as it appears. Dessert, for instance, a light as air mousse was corn based. On each visit, I've sat as close to the kitchen as possible. Watching the chefs at work is the best show in town....the focus is incredible, as is the creativity and artistry. Patrick and his assistant are the best hosts, attentive, knowledgeable, welcoming. Fairly priced wine list and lots of help choosing a wine. If you are up to dinner being a food experience, this is definitely âitâ.Dear Madam G, Thank you so much for this review, and since the beginning of the restaurant, this is so far the best review ever.. Why? Simply because it's been (I think) the 4th time you went to our restaurant Nama and you are one of the only few people who could acknowledge our evolution along the years.. and reading your comment made me proud and very happy. It's always challenging to create a menu and receiving such nice words is truly heartwarmingThank you so much for your kind feedbackHoping to seeing you both next timeMerci

Had lunch with friends, and we all went for the set lunch menu. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff friendly and helpful, and the restaurant atmosphere was very nice. Would have loved to try their dinner service as well. I would definitely visit again, and would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
