The village cluster of Ubud is the ideal place to try a famed Balinese massage and soak up the ambiance of one of Asia’s top spa destinations. Acupressure, reflexology, stretching and aromatherapy star in the island's distinctively firm massage treatments. Ubud is also the vivacious center of Bali’s arts scene, home to a small treasure trove of museums and galleries. Monkey around at nearby nature reserve Monkey Forest Park, home to hundreds of mischievous long-tailed macaques. Don’t miss the valley of tomb cloisters at Gunung Kawi.

From Bali to Borneo, From Turkmenistan to Timor, From Cambodia to China, and more places in between, Murni has assembled a huge array of antiques, treasures and gifts in her shop, which is conveniently located, next to her famous restaurant, Murni’s Warung, just a 5 minute walk from the centre of Ubud. She opened her shop at the same time as her restaurant in 1974. Murni was the first person in Ubud to have a proper gallery of antiques, textiles, costumes, old beads, tribal jewelry, stone carvings, masks and other ceremonial and ethnic pieces. She travels constantly in search of unique, unusual and rare pieces and is always looking for the best quality. Many are museum pieces and she has supplied museums. Murni’s first show abroad was the prestigiously vetted San Francisco Arts of Pacific Asia Show, 2007, followed by Los Angeles Asian and Tribal Art Show, 2008 and the Arts of Pacific Asia Show, 2009 and the Tribal and Textile Arts Show, 2009.
