I've been to Miner's Claim only twice -- both times when visiting family in Silt. It is unassuming from the outside, but quirky and inviting on the inside. Service was proficient and helpful, attentive yet inobtrusive. We ordered a wide range of appetizers and entrees, all of which were excellent. As a vegetarian, I was drawn to the Veggie Napoleon, a cornucopia of steamed vegetables over rice. It was spectacular. Each vegetable perfectly cooked and seasoned (though I did ask for some soy sauce on the second visit to punch it up slightly). Be sure to either dump it out or stir it up in order to get to the rice.I have had vegetarian entrees around the world, and this is in the top three, easily. Well done!

Small neighborhood bar with friendly staff. Ordered the fried pickles for an appetizer- very good! Salads came with two of our meals. Nice salad, the whiskey vinegarette was tastey. Then the music started. Local talent, guitar player and a harmonica player. Not bad, would have enjoyed them more except they were too loud! Could not hold a conversation at the table. Ruined what could have been an enjoyable time out. My friends got the gyro and the steak and mushroom sandwich which they said were excellent. The steak could have been cooked a little less, but still t astey.I ordered their homemade black bean burger. It was unlike any veggie burger I have had, and I don't mean that in a complimentary way. No real flavor or spice. It could have used some onion or garlic..or something. At least it was healthy.I had to get the check corrected as I was overcharged for my bottle of wine. I try and give every establishment three tries before I write them off. Turn the volume down and I may give the Black Dog another go.

Only about a mile off the freeway we were pleasantly surprised by this little gem. We found out why they are known for their Philly Cheesesteak. It was hot and delicious served with a pile of nicely browned French fries. Also an excellent choice was the chef salad that was heaping with meats and cheeses. There is comfortable seating inside but another option is on the outside deck overlooking the swimming pool and surrounding mountains.PattyWesternStates,Thank you so much for taking the time to give us a review and we are glad that you enjoyed your dining experience here at Capital Deli. Thank you for stopping in and giving us a try and we hope to see you again!

This restaurant has by-far the best quality food in New Castle. No disrespect to the other restaurants, but they just don't compare. Eat Bistro reminds me of Root Down, which is one of the highest rated restaurants in Denver. It has delicious, creative dishes and drinks, as well as a very professional and friendly staff. They rock!

Located in the quaint "old town" area, this is a super clean restaurant and the service was excellent. There is plenty of variation on the breakfast menu and the coffee was superb, rivaling that of the most popular coffee chain. The food was hot, tasty and plentiful and very well presented. The hash browns were freshly threaded, the eggs cooked just right and the bacon high quality. Only one small suggestion ... if you are going to garnish with fruit, it should be edible ... the cantaloupe was rock hard. Glad to have discovered this place, as it is just halfway between Montrose and Denver, so we will be back.

Came at on off time, hoping to get better service because they werent too busy. Took a while for a teen boy to seat us but he did get our drinks promptly. Ordered a yummy chicken sandwich with pineapple, pretty good. My husbands burger was cooked to order. Took awhile for refills and no check back.

New Castle Diner

I recently had a chance to eat at this establishment while on a hunting trip to Colorado. It is located off exit 105 in a strip mall area next to the City Market grocery store. The decor is from the 50s with a lot of old time newspaper clippings and advertisements from the same era. I especially enjoyed the full page world series advertisements inviting fans to the 1932 and 1955 world series. There are pictures of Ted Williams, Babe Ruth and Joe Dimaggio with Marilyn Monroe hung on the walls. The breakfast are large with more than enough food, and the chicken fried steak and eggs was my favorite. The afternoon Lunch menu had all the Hamburger and french fry combinations normally found at a burger joint but my favorite was the grilled Patty melt on rye. It came with hamburger patty, grilled red onions and with thick swiss cheese. Both of my meals were delicious and so was the hand made strawberry malt I had with my lunch. I should also mention that the location for those of us hunting in the "Silt" area was outstanding. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a good breakfast or lunch.
