Dropped in around 130 pm for some late breakfast. I had the 2 eggs over easy cubed hashbrown toast added bacon. Everything cooked nicely. Cubed hashbrowns seasoned perfectly. Wife had the big waffle breakfast. Again eggs cooked perfectly, crisp bacon, sausage had great flavor. Waffle done nicely. The wife didn't have one complaint and that's pretty rare...lol. Much better than the south end location.Great spot for lunch or late breakfast

This has become one of our favourite places to go to with our dear friends. Senior (60 years or better) menu selection includes salad/soup, entree and dessert for two under $30.00 (not including alcoholic beverages) Many menu options for all appetites! We visit often! Welcomed like old friends. Staff amazingly prompt and courteous. Music and dance floor! A must visit. Easy access Island Hwy south of downtown Nanaimo.

Hadn't been to the keg in a few years and decided to try it again... food is still mediocre and to high priced . Service was adequate but a little slow (granted was fairly busy) . My $200 for four meals would have been better spent elsewhere. Will I be back ? Very doubtful especially if I'm paying.

Came for family dinner & found that the large bowl of wonton with noodles was about twice the price as in Victoria. The wontons in the soup were a very nice mixture of pork & vegetables. Others had chicken teriyaki, wor wonton soup & junior cheeseburger with fries. We had dessert.

Haven't been there for a couple of years and thought it might be worth a second visit - no it wasn't. Really loud so conversation is pretty much out of the question. So busy that we didn't see our waitress very much - had to track her down to get our bill. Found the meals to be fairly expensive although the food was not too bad.Probably will not return.Hi, this doesn't sound right and we want to look into this. This is a wonderful restaurant, very clean, very modern, and with extremely comfortable seating. The parking is free and nearly endless. My server was OUTSTANDING. She kept the beverages filled through continuous table checks and was overwhelmingly friendly and professional. Truly fantastic. Unfortunately the Cobb Salad was only barely acceptable. It sure looked good but it turned out that the balsamic blue cheese dressing was all balsamic and no discernable blue cheese, the chicken was so overcooked that it was bone dry, and the greens although certainly fresh enough, just seemed to be a supermarket bagged mix. What is completely unforgivable is the choice of music blasting out through the lunch. Although the vast majority of the clientele seemed to be well over 40 years of age, the management selection of stomach churning rap music was ill advised to say the least. It has nothing to do with music criticism but lyrics: I would like the management to explain why I have to listen to XXX-rated graphic sex lyrics while I am trying to eat my lunch!

Easy parking, friendly greeter, many micro settings for different dining experiences. Our favorite is on the terrace in the summer. The food has been consistently delicious and is attractively served by more friendly staff. The menu has enough variety to please every palate. Prices are mid-range and we consider it good value.

Every city worth its salt has a place that locals talk about⦠you know, that place that serves up the tastiest, smokiest, most delicious BBQ. In Nanaimo, that place is Smokinâ Georgeâs BBQ! Every day, weâre chopping up seasoned hardwoods to smoke up the m
We went searching for dinner after a long day of biking through Nanaimo. We asked the people at the Visitor Center where would be a good place to eat. They asked "Do you like BBQ?". I answered of course! We we were told we had to try Smokin George's.We drove to the restaurant. As we have found, most great local places are in strip malls. Smokin George's was no different, in a strip mall in the industrial part of town.We walked in and it was just what I expected, nothing fancy, just a focus on food. You order at the cashier, they recommended the BBQ feast so we went with that.It came with 2 large pieces of corn bread, fries, brisket, sausage, chicken, pulled pork and ribs. Sides were coleslaw and beans that were more like chilli. We dug in and it was amazing. The brisket was super tender and lots of flavour. And they did not overdue it with bbq sauce. Everything else was great as well, but the brisket was the best.A note on the coleslaw, it has a very vinegary dressing, not creamy. We mentioned the strong vinegar taste to our server and he acknowledged that it was not for everyone but that was the way they made their dressing. We had leftovers for lunch the next day, and that was an awesome lunch. We would go back in a heartbeat. If you are in Nanaimo and like BBQ at all, you MUST try Smokin George's.thanks so much for taking the time to write an amazing review and share your experience at Smokin' George's BBQ! Hope to see you back next time you visit Nanaimo! Cheers!
