The service was horrendous! Our waiter was extremely rude. First, he delivered our food inconsistently⦠only serving half our table while the other half waited. To be polite, we waited until the entire table was served and while we waited another 15 minutes or so our food became cold and the server offered no explanation or apology. As far as, the food⦠it was okay, nothing special. I would not recommend especially due to the poor service.

I've been to this establishment a few times over the years. Sadly, each time it was more of the same. First, the food was good and the waitstaff very pleasant. My issue is with the building itself... It's old. I needs updating. It's too dark. (I understand "ambiance"). The building has smelled old and musty more than once. With that said, we've experienced fruit flies more than once. The two could be connected... They could be fungus flies. We've made a collective decision to not go back because of these issues. It's got a great location. Too bad.
This location has changed hands many times over the years, but we hope this one is able to stick around. A farm-to-table menu that is sourced locally. Very interesting menu with certainly some unique selections. The bread to start the meal was fantastic! Everything we ordered was delicious, beginning with the butternut squash soup and cauliflower steak, onion tart and wild mushroom ravioli appetizers. We also had the pork shank, NY strip steak special and monkfish special. All were very good. The desserts were a nice ending, especially loved the fun cookies and milk special. Couple of notes, we had a great evening and our server was delightful, and informative, but there was a fairly long time between courses which led to a evening that was over 2 hours. And, some sound treatment in the room would enhance the atmosphere. Conversation was a challenge at times.Overall, great addition to the area, we will return.

Was seated right away - service went downhill from there. Was served coffee, never asked if I wanted water and never served water even though other tables had it. Finally ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The waitress served the cheeseburger and before I even had a chance to ask for ketchup because my booth didn't have any, she walked away. Ordered the cheeseburger medium, it was dry for medium cooked - have had better burgers at other diners. The cheese is not melted on the top of the burger, it was melted on the bottom part of the roll. Was not offered a refill of coffee until I was done with the cheeseburger. I have eaten at another place in Chester in the past and am sorry I didn't go there instead of here.

Sub Pub is a submarine sandwich shop that has called Chester, home, for over 40 years. Specializing in submarine sandwiches, salads, and soups. Come enjoy your lunch or dinner, eat in or take out.
Ordered a foot-long Italian sub here, supposedly their specialty. Opened it up when I got home and it was the skimpiest sandwich I've ever seen. A very thin layer of meat, with a couple slices of cheese, and hardly any condiments (tomato and onion - just a tiny scattering). Really the sandwich was all bread. To top it off, they charged $14 for it! Very disappointing - I would never go back there.

First visit, should not be my last, you could compare this to Stella G's in Hackettstown, fresh and unique. I have been to the pet store multiple times next-door and just never knew this place existed. With a request from one in the party we went, and had a very fun and fine experience. I would suggest a pig, farmer or chicken standing outside the store just to market the store to the person who does not frequent the area. I mean we are not in the prohibition era and there is no booze for my coffee! Lol. Then again, the joint was busting at the seams obviously, they are doing just fine, all the best!

A wood burning grill is the focus of Redwoods cuisine. We feel that the flavors of food cooked over an open fire are enhance like wine aged in oak barrels.
After reading all the positive reviews, my wife & I were really looking forward to having lunch at this restaurant. The atmosphere was nice, the service was good too. But our lunch was just ok, not great. The turkey sandwich had hardly any turkey, it was very skimpy. We both left disappointed.Thank you for the feedback. I would love to know specifically what you had so I can discuss the issue with Chef. I do apologize for your experience here and I hope you might choose to give us another chance. Thank you again.
