We stopped here to view the salmon ladder, and found an informative visitors centre, with helpful guides. Our young guide took us down to see the fish through the viewing windows, and gave us the history of how the ladder came into being. A great stop to learn more about Newfoundland's connection with fishing.

Fishing Point Emporium

Fishing Point Emporium has a unique museum that shows must of the heritage and cultural items for the area. There are mounted animals that are local to the area. Many say it is the best Newfoundland. There a wonderful gift shop that carries most of the souvenirs you would need and also a variety of local crafts. This location is ideal for seeing Icerbergs and whales.

This gift shop is wonderful in that it carries everything from T-shirts, music CDs, jewelry, and books to homemade jams. The couple who own the shop are the ones who make the jams and are so friendly. The husband sells postcards that he has taken of the area. There is also a free museum which will accept donations. The view from the veranda is awesome. If you're lucky you could spot a whale or an iceberg.
