In zona non pullulano locali,comunque il riso ovunque e le zuppe solite, ci siamo andati sia a pranzo che la sera,ordinando anatra laccata e maialino arrosto...tra i due il maiale era divino,l'anatra ci ha deluso, il locale da non definire...non valutabile con i nstri parametri.

The restaurant is located near a lake in the center of Lang Son; we took a drink outside on the terrace, in the gardens, before dinner, with a direct view on the lake and Lang Son. It was magic at to see the night coming, and the city lights being turned on.The food was disappointing; they have a much too long menu card with too many different dishes. Chicken in cashew nut sauce, was just plain chicken with a small bowl of dressing with cashew nut sauce. And it is rather expensive compared with other places (we paid around 500KVND or ~25 $US for 2 people including main courses and two drinks). By the way, they even have dog meat in their menu...But really a good place to take a drink outside (quiet with a great view on lake and city)

Thao vien has various offers of local and must-try cuisine, their roasted duck are good, the eggplant dish is a highlight and they also offer some seasonal & forest harvested vegetables. Servicing is quite okey, but nothing too special - some food took pretty long to wait (probably they forgot) when the restaurant wasnt too crowded, which I think should be improved.

Nice and friendly staff. Especially Ms. Ngan, F&B manager is nice and helpful. Breakfast is good. Best "pho" ever in 5-star hotels I've tried.
