Hopkins Vineyard

Very nice winery in the Litchfield Country. Great place to enjoy a glass of wine. The shop and bar are nice and the top floor has a great view to the lake. I enjoyed the Cabernet Franc, by far the best from the selection of red wine. Didn’t try the white wines, need to go back... :)

The Owl

Reviewed By Ayouni203 - Darien, United States

We wanted someplace charming for lunch on our day in Litchfield. The Owl is situated across the street from a few very nice home decor stores we wanted to check out, it had plenty of socially distanced, somewhat outdoor tables with heat lamps ( somewhat, because the patio was well covered including on the sides- but seemed to have enough air circulation to pass as outdoor for me, who has not eaten inside, at a restaurant, since March). There were a few tables indoors in the very tiny restaurant, with a lovely fire in the wood fireplace. It seems given the size, that they might have been set up for outdoor eating before Covid- just a guess. It is worth mentioning that the music playlist was terrific! 70’s disco, Barry White etc. Many old nuggets that I haven’t heard in years, played at the perfect volume as background, yet contributed to the lively atmosphere. Our waiter was very friendly, recommended the meatballs which were delicious! We also split the vegetable panini. Very nicely prepared with fresh grilled vegetables. My only slight disappointment was that the bread was toasted and crunchy, rough on the mouth, so not the pressed panini I was expecting. They have a nice selection of wines by the glass. We did not have dessert because after lunch we headed to Averill Farm for apple cider donuts- which I also highly recommend!
