New Buffalo is a Lake Michigan beach getaway convenient to Indiana and Chicago. The large, broad public beach is the main attraction, but you can also explore downtown New Buffalo's shopping and dining options. Or, if you feel like taking a chance, the Four Winds Casino Resort has 130,000 square feet of gaming space. Owned by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians, its design evokes their heritage.

If you see little boats in the picture this is also a relaxing way to enjoy the River/marsh/County park. We (21 k yachts) put in at the riverside boat landing behind the Beach which has a $7 in state fee per boat. Parking free Just off the red arrow highway is a rental location also. The day was gorgeous, the river flat, winds light and we looked up at the people taking our picture on the high lookout the other reviewers discribe. Many birds, turtles, and no bugs (what's up with that?).

We grew up near Lake Michigan, so getting to come back is always a great time. We never knew how much we would miss the lakes til we moved away. (mistake?) Anyways, we were here on a lovely sunny day with lots of nice rollers and a medium strength undertow. We played frisbee and swam for a couple hours. It was a typical lake experience where its freezing at first, then you get used to it and it actually starts feeling warm. The beach itself was clean and uncrowded. The bathrooms were clean and the outside showers made rinsing off easy. You can't fully shower, obviously, but you can get most of the sand off so that you're not gritty. We paid the $12 to park just for ease and took advantage of the board walk over the dunes for the amazing views and great selfie opportunity. Great way to spend a day in New Buffalo.

We spent 2 nights here and I will start off by saying the rooms were immaculate and comfortable. The entire room is really fantastic. The negative things are:
The room safe was not working, security had to come up and repair it. They were fast, arrived in about 20 minutes.
I have stayed her several times & there is always a desk chair & 2 arm chairs. This time there was only 1 arm chair, not convenient or comfortable for 2 people to enjoy their morning coffee in the room as 1 had to sit in the desk chair.
They have changed the policy of in room coffee. If I understood correctly each room is given so much coffee per day and if you exceed that amount call housekeeping and you will be charged for the extra. What the h--- is that all about?
Check in was a nightmare, 3 people checking people in, the line was overflowing into the hall which leads to the casino.
These issues may not mean anything to other people but they are major to me. Hope 4 Winds get it together and brings back customer satisfaction.

This is an extremely nice welcome center and makes one glad one has come to Michigan for vacationing. An overwhelming amount of information, pamphlets and maps are available and there are live people to answer questions. Very clean. Will plan to stop here again next time we come to Michigan which we hope will be soon.

Rented the 19' Sea Ray from Oselka. Our family of 4 with two very young kids had a great time. We had great weather. The boat was clean and in great working order. Booked online. Check in was easy and fast. Staff was friendly and knowledgable. Lots of time for pleasure cruising, picnic on the water and a little fishing too. Worth every penny! We'll be back!

This venue holds about 1600 people so all seats are decent, but the sound wasn't the greatest. We were there to see Steve Winwood and Steely Dan. They do have screens on the sides for those sitting in the back. They only have 1 camera however, so they have to do a lot of panning to stay up close and to catch the action. Adding at least 1 other camera would help a great deal. The seats are chairs but are quite comfortable because they are heavily padded and the backs have some give to them. It is located inside a casino so the smell of smoke is rather strong walking through to the venue.

The New Buffalo Railroad Museum, “The Little Museum That Could”, is housed in a Pere Marquette Depot replica on the historic rail yards of New Buffalo, Michigan. 3 stalls of the original 16-stall roundhouse and coal tower can be viewed. Displays include furnishings and items from the original depot and Pere Marquette and Pullman artifacts. Rail yard crew photos and equipment including lanterns are also shown. A HO scale, hand-crafted model train layout replicates a historic picture of the city in the early 1900’s. Visitors can stroll thru a restored World War II Pullman Troop Sleeper Car and a C&O Chessie Blue Box Car. Interactive children’s activities are available for different age groups. Visitors can chose to join a free guided tour or discover the museum individually. No admission, but donations are accepted.
