Visitors can wander through these beautiful gardens or tour cypress-lined swamps by flat-bottomed boat.
Took a self-guided flatbottomed boat tour of Cypress Gardens swamp. Saw an alligator swim by! So beautiful and peaceful with water lilies everywhere! Did not walk around the grounds, but plan to go back during azalea time! It should be breathtaking then. A great place to spend a day with the beauty of nature!

Mepkin Abbey has beautiful gardens, amazing wood carvings, and a quiet peacefulness as you walk the grounds of the Abbey. Upon entry to Mepkin Abbey, we stopped by the gift shop. Many handmade items, large selection of books, adorable Christmas ornaments, etc. If you are anywhere close to Moncks Corner, you should definitely stop for a visit to Mepkin Abbey!

We totally enjoy walking the beautiful trails and the interpretive center is outstanding. The staff at the park are always friendly and helpful. The history in and around this park is enjoyable as well as the treasured museum. This is a wonderful place to take children. The playground is fun and safe. Take a picnic lunch. We love our Old Santee Canal Park.

The Biggin Church Ruins are just a mile or two from downtown Moncks Corner, SC. Located on Hwy 402 near the intersection of 402 and 376. There is a cemetery at the site as well. Originally built in 1711, the church has been burned three times in it's history. The first time was the result of a forest fire in 1775. During the revolutionary war, the British used the church as an ammunition dump. When they decided to abandon the site, they removed all of their ammunition and then set the church on fire. It was rebuilt by the parishioners and served the area for more than 100 years. A forest fire in 1886 destroyed the building and it was left in ruins. It is a solemn area and is easy to miss if you are passing by. The beautiful brick work of the two remaining walls is testament to the craftsmanship of the time.

Berkeley Country Club is a semi-private 18 hole golf course with a full practice facility, grill room, and a classic “Low Country” style clubhouse. Berkeley offers some of the best greens in the Charleston area with a laid-back hometown atmosphere.
Berkeley Country Club is easily the best value in the area with $25 (including tax) "Play All Day" on Mondays. The course is very welcoming to all handicaps. Wide fairways and large greens are a huge plus. The greens are very well kept during the winter months. The staff are very polite and prompt. The food is excellent as well as the service. Pace of play seems quick but never rushed. I will definitely try to play this course at least twice monthly.

Captain Christopher Orvin flat out knows how to put you on the fish. We caught 6 big redfish in just a few hours and had a great time. Highly recommend Captain Chris.
