Wisconsin Skydiving Center is a family-owned and operated business. Owners Bo Babovic and Alex Kolacio total over seventeen thousand skydives and 55 years of experience in the sport between the two of them. OUR MISSION – SAFETY, COMMUNITY & FUN Safety Focused Skydiving is a high-risk activity and we don’t take that lightly! Since our inception in 1998, we have earned a sterling safety record due to our focus on staff, equipment, and aircraft. This has always been our priority and will never change. Community Our community is like our family and we want everyone to feel welcome regardless of background, color, or creed. We are focused on continually developing a healthy, positive culture to grow as people and as skydivers. Fun The best experiences in life require safety and respect. We work hard to ensure our guests feel that way in order to have fun! The world is a pretty serious place, so let’s celebrate together by making a skydive and having the time of our lives!

I have been following this business' opening process on Facebook, and it finally arrived. We were fortunate enough to visit on day 2 of being open. The owners (sister winery is Lewis Station in Lake Mills) have done a beautiful job of re-purposing an old livery that was slated to be demolished and turned it into something really beautiful. They had a nice variety of wines to taste (flight of 4 was $10); most are on the sweet side. Liquors coming in Fall 2020. We took our wine to the large outdoor patio and also ordered a pinza-crust pizza for dinner which was out of this world! There are a variety of those homemade pizzas, pretzels, and snack boards available for purchase. This amazing site right on the river also has a room called the Wine Cellar in the exposed lower-level that is available for rental for up to 125 people. We will definitely be back again especially once the bourbon and rye whiskey is ready to sample!

We make a point of coming out here (about a 40 minute drive from Madison) to see at least one movie a year. Go before the sun sets, so you have plenty of time to enjoy the music playiing through the old-fashioned drive-in speakers (maybe Elvis... maybe some 50's novelty rock and roll... when we went two weeks ago it was some awesome instrumentals of 60s MOR hits.) The speakers work great, so you can have the real drive-in experience of hanging one on your window, or just tune in to the specified station to hear it through your car radio. If it's a nice night and you want to sit in lawn chairs outside your car, you'll easily be able to hear the movie just from all the drive-in speakers being on. The real asset to getting there early is you'll have plenty of time to get some treats and snacks from the snack bar. Be warned, on crowded nights the lines get pretty long - but the staff works really hard to get the basic popcorn and sodas loaded up and handed to you very quickly. You will have to wait a little longer if you want some actual food, but honestly, I always go with the popcorn and maybe an ice cream treat. The large sodas are HUGE. You can also go full-immersion in the old-time drive-in experience and buy a PIC coil to ward off the mosquitos! There's a playground at the front under the screen that always seems to offer maximum play value for the swarms of variously-sized children running around, and there's also a bar that's available a short walk from the playground (behind a fence) where adults can get a little snootful before the movie starts. They always run a cartoon before the features, and play a great film of the National Anthem (people literally do stand up outside their cars for this.) The management is very strict about not bringing in any carry-ins, because vending is an important part of their ability to stay open, so don't be a jerk. Just plan ahead to get your snacks and beverages there. My interactions with the staff have always been pleasant, and they take their job of pleasing their customers seriously. This season's just wrapping up (we'll probably go to the season-ending sci-fi special next weekend) but we're already planning for our 2019 trip!
