I live on the shore of this magnificent lake and have for many years. 250' feet deep just a little ways out from my dock. Miles and miles of shoreline on this 45+ mile long lake which offers great fishing, jet skiing, skiing, swimming, pontooning and very clean water. Water changes color with Season and changing weather. Beautiful moon rise pics over water. Sometimes mirror like surface. Favorite picture taken when doe and two fawn entered the water from my shoreline and swam full width of lake. Only 3 heads showing with a small v swirling each. Georgeous.

This is a nice place to take your boat out and fish or if you just want to row on the lake. It appears you can rent some flat bottom aluminium boats. There are trails you can walk. All we did was Walk along the lake and follow it to the end. We did not actually walk the trail. There are ducks you can watch. We also saw a crane! Maybe next time we will be able to take a boat out and fish! Unsure if there is a bathroom really, I imagine there is one in the building. There are plenty of picnic tables to eat under! Which is what we did! Lovely place to relax or take pictures at!

Great camping spots, great hiking trails (especially for families with young children) More than ample picnic areas, pavilions available for rent, nice public restrooms and a nice swimming beach. Also one of the safest and easiest places to launch you boat into Smith Lake.

Had a great time on Smith Lake! We were looking for something to do, and rented some kayaks from Ella at Pine Valley. Their price was great, and they were super friendly! Thanks for a good time!
When acquiring the home and stating its purpose, John T. Oliver, Jr., past President and founding Board Member of Walker Area Community Foundation said "It has long been our belief that our town needed a proper place to display and recognize our rich heritage, as well as a place to host cultural events. This colonial revival home - when restored to its original dignity provides just such a venue.
