I thought it was a great store! So much to look at and choose from. However, I was disappointed that after spending almost $200 on clothes and merchandise the lady wouldn't give me the cheap, plastic hanger my sweater came on. We're traveling in an motor home, so needed it.

People called Oliver Anderson’s house “the best arranged dwelling house west of St. Louis.” But it became more famous as the center of a bloody three-day Civil War battle in 1861. Walk through the Anderson House at Battle of Lexington State Historic Site and marvel at the bullet holes still in the walls and evidence of the cannon shots. The battlefield is peaceful now, dotted with orchards and gardens, but battle scars remain. A visitor center provides a comprehensive view of the battle that raised Southern spirits that the war was winnable and made Unionists in Missouri think twice about whether they could hold the state. The site is located in the town of Lexington and is one of the closest Civil War sites to Interstate 70.
Small visitor center chocked full of artifacts and short film giving the perspective of the town and role it played in the Civil War. I learned new information about the Missouri/Kansas border conflicts which were not something I had learned since I lived in Ohio during my elementary school days.
I wished we had known to arrange the Anderson House Tour in advance but from the exterior it looked very similar to Wornall House in Kansas City.
If traveling from Kansas City there is a U-pick farm on the way that's worth stopping at on the way back. Plentiful strawberries in May, blackberries will be ready in early June.

A beautiful old church, and part of a large complex of buildings. Everything looks like it's kept up nicely, and if you're into old churches, you can take a drive around.

Who would think you would find such good wine in the middle of Missouri? Worth the trip to spend some time at this winery! Nice outside deck and front porch seating. Music series in the summer. Some excellent Missouri wines. People are nice also (opened 45 mins early for us to get a glass of wine). The location is the only negative but if you are close, try it!

Step on to the peaceful grounds of Confederate Memorial State Historic Site and experience where the last voices of the “Lost Cause” lingered. The site was once home to the Confederate Soldiers Home of Missouri, which provided comfort and refuge to 1,600 Civil War veterans and their families for nearly 60 years. Today, visitors can visit the restored chapel and the Confederate cemetery, as well as three other historic buildings. Visitors will learn about the Confederate Home and the role it played in post-Civil War Missouri. The site’s 135 acres include numerous lakes to fish in as well as walking trails and places to picnic.
this was an interesting place to visit. the gravesite of William Quantrill of the Civil War is located in the Veteran's Home Cemetery. Or at least part of his body is there! The Missouri Veterans Cemetery is nearby. Beautifully kept grounds honoring our service men and women. Generations Café is a must for great food!

A cute park right in the middle of the city. Lots of green space and sidewalks to walk around. Benches to sit on. It was clean and well maintained.

Located just 45 minutes east of Kansas City, Arcadian Moon opened its doors in 2013 with a focus on Midwestern varietals and a desire to become one of Missouri's best winery destinations. Since then, we've added live music on Saturdays and Sundays from spring to fall, opened a kitchen serving wood-fired pizzas and casual cuisine seven days a week, and is now one of Missouri's newest craft breweries.
We enjoyed our recent visit to Arcadian Moon. Went to hear the "Lucky Dogs", ended up enjoying a lovely outdoor venue with great beers. We were out visiting family, being from Colorado, a craft brewery haven, we were surprised by the fare we experienced here....MoreGlad you enjoyed your time at here we strive to make your exsperience better evertime! Thsnks for the review!
