Many people do not realize the role of the mining industry on Cape Breton. It was huge. This modern museum has it all, including a tour in a mine. Outside, adjacent, are buildings showing how miners and their families lived in the "company town"....everything they...MoreDear gold-vintner, Thank you for taking the time to post your review in Tripadvisor. Behind the one-room showcase of Italian Marconi's success of wireless transmission at this historic spot is the base foundation of one of the transmission towers. The staff person is knowledgeable and helpful. For those interested, a display of electromagnetic waves would be advantageous.

This church was quite different compared to the other churches. It was focused on healing. On their website we found that they cook a lot for people in the vicinity to enjoy.
The church is quite simple, but attractive as well. We have to walk through a wooden arch and we see the altar immediately. The cross is right above the altar.
I enjoyed seeing this church. I wish I could attend this church, at least for once.
Worthwhile to visit!

Great museum with enthusiastic volunteers with great stories. Enjoyed the displays and the history of the area as told by people who remember some of it! Clean museum with lots of space with numerous artifacts and exhibits.

The entrance is inviting as you can come up the half moon shaped steps to the front entrance. As you enter, there is a large reception area to mingle in before an event. The ticket area and the bar area can be a bit cramped if there is a large crowd. People are polite so that makes the small areas more bearable.
People are welcomed by volunteers as they enter closer to the theatre entrances. As you enter the theatre there are volunteers to take you to your seat. The seats are comfortable and the floor is angled toward the stage area.
There is an upstairs balcony which can be accessed by stairs or an elevator. It was offers a good view of the stage.
The last performance we attended was an appreciation concert to celebrate The Men of the Deeps' fifty years of Performances.
There are numerous types of Concerts offered during the year for young and old alike.

This drive is about 1 hour from Glace bay to Mira Gut. There are many places to stop and enjoy the view, stop for a bite to eat, or stop and walk around. One of the Bridges is so narrow only one car is allowed on at once. There are some pleasant streams and scenic areas to enjoy.

I enjoyed visiting this church immensely. The door was open and I headed immediately to the worship center. This church was quite modern and attractive as well. The stained-glass windows were modern. The organ was splendid. I wished I could hear it.
While I was admiring this chapel, the priest came to me and we had a great time talking to one another.
He encouraged me to go the to the side chapel. There too it was quite beautiful. A stained-glass window stood out. Wow!
I told the priest that he had a gorgeous church here. He agreed.
I left with a new friend.
It's worthwhile to visit this church. It is beautiful!
