I really can’t express how amazing this serene , beautifully kept place is. I only learned that it existed a couple of months ago as was in the area staying for a couple of nights with my husband. We wandered around the gardens in beautiful sunshine gasping at how wonderful Carfin grotto is. I caught mass in the chapel which made our visit even more special. I live 90 miles away but will be back. It is a free place to visit and I’ve been told there’s no more money to keep it open. We’d have happily have paid to visit. I pray that it dosent close

Enjoyed a lovely walk from the watersports centre around the loch and back took around an hour an a half and saw some of the lovely nature sights within the park and some lovely flaura and fauna.

We visited this afternoon with my 8 year son and he LOVED it. A wide variety of animals available to see (bats, snakes, coy carp, turtles, parrots, tamarin monkeys, ants, frogs, butterflies etc) and interesting talks held by their keepers. During the handling session my son got to hold a Royal Python, Russian Turtle and a Hissing Cockroach! A must do experience for all animal lovers! It's VERY hot inside so do NOT wear hot clothes such as wooly jumpers!

A museum and heritage centre with exhibitions, archives and local studies, activities and workshops. You can find out about the history of North Lanarkshire or research your family tree. The exhibitions change regularly and the Climb Thru Time exhibition in the tower relates the history of Motherwell. Relax in the garden area or take a look at the views over Lanarkshire and beyond from the viewing tower. Hire the conference room for meetings and community groups.
Very interesting displays and very kind, nice friendly atmosphere and staff. The rooftop gallery gives us a great view over Motherwell and surroundings.
