A history major like me had a wonderful time at this place, for it is here, during the 19th century, that the liberation from Spain began for what would be the nations of Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and namely, Colombia. My parents were Colombian, and I have lived in Bogota for a few years in my youth, so This battle is of significant importance when learning about the country, and its liberator, Simon Bolivar. The battlefield covers a wide expanse of hill country with statues and monuments, but there is a building near the bridge called "El Ciclorama," a round structure which has the largest mural in South America, and when explained by the local guide, adds color to the rich history of the event held here and, most importantly, the people of Colombia. A great place to visit.

Visiting this tiny town was quite a show, 4 to 5 streets and every house is different from the other because every house represent a part of the county, is very unique and at night we visited like 6 different very tiny towns just to see christmas lights...it was the perfect evening to share the joy...

Peaceful, beautiful, amazing I love Boyacá landscapes, also I love cold weather, the lake is beautiful, the beach is wonderful too, even it's artificial or natural, you can take a shower to reboot your nervous system or just seat there and relax listening to the water and the wind.

a little boutique Chocolate Museum. It opened since September 13, 2015, and was created by La Chocolateria of Villa de Leyva, established in the region since September 13, 2013. important: September 13 is the date Chocolate day, but every day are chosen to enjoy and be happy!
Who would have thought that dedicating an entire restaurant/Café to chocolate would be such a devine endeavor? These guys do it well, OMG, do they ever! Villa de Leyva’s weather can be a bit cold, so dropping in after a terrible rain storm was the best idea, we didn’t know just how good it would be until we looked at the menu. Don’t be fooled by the word “Museo”, this is actually a great restaurant, café that will pleasantly surprise you. Drop in for any type of chocolate dream you’d like to have fulfilled, or for dinner just as well. We had both. Excellent cream of mushroom and tomato soups, nice appetizers and entrees. But save the best for last. Chocolate anything, from delicious cups of various types of hot chocolate to drink, or chocolate desserts, everything was delicious. We will definitely return if we have the chance.
