The temple is located in the heart of the city. Parking may be an issue but you can park your vehicle at the roadside. The goddess is one of the forms of Shakti. You get a positive energy after having Darshan here. Temple is clean and maintained. I visited during Corona time and all the Covid protocols were found to be followed.

Slightly out of the city, this is one beach which is unique for it's combination of White sands, rocks, temple and a lighthouse all in one place. The water and the beach itself is very clean and beautiful. It is not very crowded and doesn't have any shops or shacks encroaching the beach. That way it is serene and peaceful. They say that venturing deep into this sea is dangerous due to the rocks but outside no concerns otherwise. The rocks also help trap plenty of sea shells which children can collect. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, typical Dakshina kannada style albeit smaller and visited mostly by the locals. About15kms outside of Mangaluru centre, this beach is not to be missed.

City Centre Mall is a shopping centre that is pretty good even by Western standards. Lots of local brands, plus a sprinkling of western brands, some of which would be considered upmarket in Europe. There's also a good court, again with a mix of local and western food. I needed some sports apparel after traveling for months with a small set of clothes and had no trouble finding something as there's Adidas, Puma and Reebok stores in the mall. A great place for shops in air conditioned comfort.
