Our Spanish club went to the museum and had a guided tour. We learned a lot of local area history and saw many artifacts. The guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. The date museum was also very interesting. This is certainly worth the visit.

Sunday Polo is one of the must do activities in the Desert during the winter months! Join us every Sunday from January 8th through April 2nd at Eldorado Polo Club for the most competitive and thrilling polo in the Desert.
We brought out of town friends here for an amazing afternoon! First we went to the Cantina for lunch, on the patio! Good food and service and beautiful views. A very laid back place, relaxing and enjoyable. While you are there, pick up one of their Polo Magazines. It is a beautiful publication that tells you about polo in the area, and lays out the ground rules of the game as well as a layout of the different fields. We found there would be a 12 goal match that afternoon and brought our chairs out to go watch. There are 'formal' games on the weekends, but the preliminaries are played during the week. ( think the schedule is on the website) There is no charge of the weekday games, and there are not many people there. You just drive and park your car along the field and bring out your chairs and enjoy! There are no facilities during the week, so bring something to drink ect if you are going to want anything. Very low key, and very exciting to watch the games! The season is not long.... Jan - March.

The most well-known and heavily attended music festival in the US, the Coachella Music and Arts festival has been luring music lovers to Indio, CA since 1999. Celebrity sightings, non-stop sunshine, and bohemian chic summer fashions are as much a signifier of the festival as the eclectic lineup of music itself, making it the perfect homage to the golden state. Coachella has become so popular with fans that it has extended from one two-day weekend to two successive three-day weekends. Throw camping, dancing, and lots of eating and drinking into the mix, and you've got the ultimate taste of California summer.
What an absolutely amazing experience Coachella was. We stayed in Lake Eldorado which was only a short walk from the festival. I think I underestimated the jet lag and if we were to return (which we couldn't do this year due to covid) I would definitely get to the US a few days before and sleep the jet lag off. The music was amazing - I loved wandering and discovering new artists - there was so much choice. I would recommend getting the buses to the supermarkets to get out for breakfast and definitely wearing trainers as there is a lot of walking. It was a bucket list festival!

Shields Date Garden is now open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, we are still offering curbside to-go orders for those customer who would prefer this option. The theater, and walk are still closed to the public.
A group of 6 of us ate breakfast here. It was a chilly morning and we wanted to sit inside. Small inside seating area, but ample outdoor seating. If you spend $25 in the cafe or the gift shop, you get tickets to their grounds. It is a beautiful walk. Their gift shop has date varieties to sample and purchase, as well as a short film on their operation. You must try the famous Date Shake, very delicious! A worthwhile stop in my opinion.

Renowned architect Clive Clark has taken a parcel of our local desert and carved a masterpiece with elevations and water features not usually seen on a golf course that is open for public play. This 18-hole, 6,715 yard par 72 challenge will test the low handicapper, but yet provide an enjoyable and fair test of golf for the average player. Stay and play at our Palm Springs hotel for the ultimate golf getaway.
This course was recommended by a golfer we met while playing at Silverrock (another very nice course in nearby La Quinta). It’s located on the property of Fantasy Springs Casino, but since it’s a bit off the beaten path, apparently many people don’t know about it (myself included). While there isn’t a proper clubhouse (it’s in a trailer), it didn’t matter to us. They do have a small snack bar and cart service. The practice area is excellent—one of the nicest I’ve encountered—and range balls are included with your greens fee. Carts have GPS’s which measure to the flag. The course itself is very picturesque and in top condition. We felt it started off relatively easy, but grew more difficult after the first 6 or 7 holes. Greens were pristine and rolled true with very few exaggerated breaks. We finished our highly enjoyable round in under 4 hours. One small thing to mention: we booked using a mobile device and our twosome was apparently registered as a foursome. The clerk said this has happened before and recommended calling rather than going online to book tee times. Eagle Falls could well become a favorite. We will definitely return.
