Top 7 Things to do Good for a Rainy Day in St. Barthelemy, St. Barthelemy

September 6, 2021 Darwin Bolte

Christopher Columbus added St. Barthelemy, or St. Barts to his collection in 1493, but the French soon stepped in. Today, the chic Caribbean island - officially a department of France - is a popular winter getaway for people from mainland France, the rest of Europe and North America. Keep in shape and walk between attractions or get a rental car to see more of the island. Beachgoers can choose between strands such as Grand Saline, if nude sunbathing appeals, or shady, isolated Colombier Beach.

PaSha is the best boutique on St. Barts (and on-line.) We always find the most unique and exceptional gifts. David and Olivier are wonderful as well and always help us select fun and fabulous gifts. The custom made items are always worth a visit. Located in Gustavia, the boutique is easy to find. We love the clothing too! They always have fun and new items with exceptional quality. Whenever visiting St. Barts or even on-line, PaSha has items we can't find anywhere else! We had special gifts selected for my husband's birthday and everyone loved them!

We decided to stop by this little shop based on the solid reviews. Was a wise choice. The owner has a very cool vibe and is awesomely friendly. He talked about the island, hurricane, spices, etc...and we listened intently. Was like taking to your cool neighbor. He showed us his favorite spices and let us smell. I could not image leaving without buying something. We bought several items and use them frequently. Took a pic of a couple of favorites. Parking may be hard on a busy day and time but cruise around the shopping area to eventually find one, then make sure to stop by Sea Spice and say “hi” for us.

I have purchased pearl jewelry from here several times and it is a much less expensive alternative to Bijou La Mer. Considering how often you would wear this type of jewelry, it’s hard to justify the exorbitant prices of Bijou. Yes, their quality is probably higher than Kalinas but we have never had anything but compliments on our Kalinas pieces.

This is a quick walk through museum with a lovely curator and warm reception. String this together with the other historical attractions to make for a great hiking loop.
