We have rarely been disappointed stopping at visitor centres in Victoria and this one was no exception. A very knowledgeable lady filled us up with info and brochures and offered suggestions for people of our vintage to go and see and enjoy. The museum was very informative. There is plenty of parking and the toilets were spotless. One suggestion, when you drive out the exit, take it easy as the slope to the street has quite a bump at the end. If your car is low, be careful.

If you haven't visited a library for a few years, come and take a look. The library of today is probably not the place you remember. Our children's area is a delight to explore with a replica cave for them to explore. Along with free internet computers, Wi-Fi and materials to loan the library also hosts The Bookmark Cafe with views overlooking the cave garden.

Visited Engelbrecht Cave with two grandsons 7 and 10 years old . It was an excellent experience for young and old with a very informative guide who gave us a great insight into the cave systems surrounding Mount Gambier and a history of how this dry cave was found and what it was used for in years gone by.

The Riddoch & Main Corner Complex

The Riddoch & Main Corner Complex is an arts & cultural centre featuring sophisticated sound and light displays that tell the story of Mount Gambier, including a free feature documentary called Volcano, as well as hosting South Australia's largest regional art gallery.

We came to see the Volcano film on a rainy afternoon. It was excellent and our kids enjoyed it and learnt from it. We stayed afterwards and our son loved the Sidney Nolan exhibition and our daughter enjoyed colouring in at the art table. The staff were super friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. A great place to visit and we would recommend it.

Riddoch Arts & Cultural Centre

Another town, another art gallery. I was lucky enough to view Riddoch's two latest offerings, which opened last night: 'As far as the eye can see' and 'Unbound'. The former is a touring exhibition from the Blue Mountains. This is a great space and well worth a visit. The gallery shop has a good range of interesting gifts.
