One of the advantages of visiting Switzerland is that you can enjoy French and Italian cuisine without leaving the country. We arrived without a reservation and were offered an outside table along with others who appeared to be regular customers. Our waitress didn't speak much English, which was a good sign. The food was simply marvelous, especially the escargot and the risotto.

Small village restaurants in Valais have something similar with small places restaurants in Greece : the menu is about the same everywhere. In this case, this very centrally located restaurant offers besides a "plat du jour" (lunch menu) the traditional cheese items (fondue, croûte au fromage, sometimes raclette), roastbeef/meat and french fries, steak and in sometimes venison. Depending on days, food can be OK (sometimes more, sometimes less). What spoils the place is the management and service who has no idea about welcoming guests. Furthermore, like everywhere, the place is rather expensive. However, to put a positive note, unoriginal classic mountain restaurant setting but quite cosy. Nice terrasse .

The food was simple but good and interesting.I just regret the over crowded dining room. We could barely hear each other at the table !The staff was a bit in a rush and didn't have much time for anyone.I appreciated the vegetarian menus.

Small restaurant with an excellent traditional local cuisine. Meat (local beef) with vegetables and hot and cold cheese plates- Very pleasant no thrill athmosphere and good service. Downside : the prices as items are priced separately the total comes to a fairly high total.

Just before crossing the frontier into France, we were hungry. The Hotel Suisse doesn't look imposing but was clearly popular and the food looked good. We were made very welcome by the Spanish girls who were working there and the lunch was tasty. We were even given a complimentary dessert. This was all a very pleasant surprise.
