Reviews on Sushi food in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. Johannesburg is the place to go to mix big-city culture, shopping, dining and nightlife with outdoor adventures, up-close wildlife encounters and visits to historical sites. Explore caves and nature reserves, or visit a traditional village by day, then enjoy dinner at a hip cafe or five-star restaurant. And if you're a shopper, bring an extra, empty suitcase. With malls, open-air markets and places that blend the two, you'll find plenty of unique souvenirs.

Founded in 2000, Yamitsuki introduced the concept of Japanese style cuisine, presented to customers via a unique conveyor belt system. The experience was fun and exciting while the food was revolutionary. Yamitsuki became a market leader in sushi restaura
This restaurant came highly recommended by a few friends and I decided to try it out. Ordered a take away of the chicken noodles and some sushi. The sushi was average and the chicken noodles were completely burnt. Waste of time and money. Deffinately not worth the drive there or the money spent.

âYum Chaâ, an age old Chinese cuisine style, celebrates the unique culinary art of Dim Sum. It is this inimitable gastronomic offering which So Yum presents as a haven for friends, family and colleagues to gather in appreciation of healthy, fresh, wholeso
Asian Fusion food is one of my favourites so we had a very happy healthy lunch at So Yum. Their combinations of salads all sound wonderfully mouthwatering but we settled for the pulled duck and beetroot salad, with caramelized nuts and a mustard mayo dressing. It was well presented and appetizing and it really was delicious. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. It isn't the cheapest place to eat a salad, but they use expensive ingredients so I guess you get what you pay for.

My local works colleagues had reserved a large table by the window for a mid week evening dinner at the Villa Bianca recently. Parking is for free outside, just off the road. In fact there is nothing special about this area - seemed rather a strange location for a high class restaurant but it was, nonetheless doing a brisk trade on the evening that we were there.Getting the drinks in with a crowd of around a dozen diners was a bit of a challenge but our dedicated waitress did her best - very successfully in fact. I followed her recommendation and had a Jack Blacks draught beer to start off with. As we were about to order our food from the extensive and very comprehensive menu of mixed international offerings (Italian, Chinese, Japanese, South African etc.), our waitress returned to cite a plethora of extra specials in glorious detail. Wow. What a memory. As it was I went for the snails as a starter - swimming in delicious garlic butter. And for the main course I went for steak served with a blue cheese sauce and an avocado on top. It was served with cooked vegetables. I left the choice of the wines to the local experts. We started with a bottle ofPinotage Kanonkop 2016 and then followed that with a bottle of Merlot Meerlust 2015.Some of us had desserts. I didn't. I was full and very satisfied. This is truly a restaurant that I can thoroughly recommend.

The Big Mouth is a contemporary take on the classic diner infused with culinary influences and ingredients from around the globe.
At first I was put off by the extensive menu but was quickly charmed by the attentive professional staff. And then the food started coming out - everything was superb. The Peri-Peri Chicken Liver appetizer is a must as is the grilled calamari. We shard and tasted entree items from a Chicken Curry to Barramundi fish with vegetables to Lamb Chops and Salmon Poke Bowl - each was delicious The only reason Iâm not giving it 5 stars is that the food all came out too quickly. Before we could finish appetizers the entrees were arriving and it felt rushed. An interesting problem in South Africa where many restaurants are known for poor and slow service.....The place has a great vibe and is packed or a reason - they deliver good food at a great price!

Resturants
A brightly lit, fast-paced, and very loud restaurant. We chose this restaurant based upon its reputation and were disappointed. Rather than an elegant and relaxing evening we were rushed the entire evening by an overly aggressive waiter who seemed to want to get rid of us as soon as possible. The food was only average. One example would be the grilled kingclip that had no indication of being grilled. There were no grill marks nor flavor. Overall, our visit was quite disappointing.
