We accidentally stopped by this restaurant for lunch at the end of our tour of the island. The combo of the lunch were so delicious and fresh we all enjoyed very much. The price tag is so reasonable low compared to all other meals we have in Iceland. Since this is our last day before heading to the airport, the lady at the cashier gladly accepted all our remaining krona as part of the payment. We will definitely come back again when we were in Reykjavik.Thank you so much for choosing our restaurant and taking the time to write this lovely review. It was our pleasure to have You all at our store. We are looking forward to Your return. Best to you, Gudbjorg

There are not many restaurants to choose from in this area. This restaurant filled our bellies, but not much else. Plain vanilla restaurant. The highlight was the sallad buffe and soup for starter!

Potturinn og pannan (The Pot & pan, since 1982) is a family friendly restaurant, popular for it's relaxed atmosphere and delicious cooking, offered at reasonable prices. We offer the modern traditional Icelandic Cuisine, based on our cultural heritage and
My friend and I stumbled across this restaurant for dinner on our way to another restaurant, but we stopped here instead. It was a cosy atmosphere with nice staff. The food menu excited me and I eventually settled on the seafood gratin, which was lovely. I felt the prices were reasonable for dinner in Iceland. We liked it so much we went back the next night. We then went there for buffet lunch after reading the positive reviews on here, but personally I would give it a higher rating for their dinner menu than their lunch buffet. I would recommend this restaurant and would happily go back there should I return to Iceland.

Truly a hidden gem in the South Coast. Pictures and videos do not do justice to the magic of this place. We were a big wedding group and Andri made sure our arrangements went smoothly and that we have a wonderful viking experience with hands on instruction on axe and arrows as well as sharing in history. Having axe throwing and archery activities outside during sunset will be a favorite memory here. he even let us toast some marshmallows on fire outside. Upon entering, I felt transported back into time, with the lighting and music hauntingly beautiful. The entire ambiance is unlike any other. Here you can enjoy delicious meals with vegan options available. For the brave, they also offer fermented shark ! A must see in Iceland for travelers, also, HIGHLY recommended for events like weddings and corporate gatherings! **They are active on instagram, be sure to check their page out for current videos and picturesHi Betty,Thank you so much for these incredibly kind and generous words. You guys were absolutely amazing guests and we are truly happy to have met you guys. You will always be welcome here at Ingólfsskáli!Thank you again and until next time...

Iceland is an expensive country and food is very frightfully expensive. If you are living at the Hilton Hotel this is a great place to eat. By Iceland standards, it is moderately priced and the food is wholesome and excellent. The price includes the main meal with vegetables, soup, salad, bread and coffee. Even though we did not go back for seconds, as the meal was very filling, we were told we could if we wanted to.The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Laug-As was suggested to me for my motorcycle tour group of 10 people for our 'Welcome Dinner'. With a great reputation for excellent food, I wanted the group to experience more than just one entrée. Chef Johann and the owner accommodated us perfectly. Guests tried things they probably never would have if not for the Family-style method of being served. So the lamb, the Beef, the Fish were all fantastic... and the special desert was also a topper.

Daughter no 1 had this place scoped out prior and we made a reservation late in the afternoon prior. Fridheimar is popular (read tour buses) and expensive. Having said that, it is a unique experience and the full bar does help! Tomato soup, bread and a few sides to choice from makes up the menu. Reservations are required but we had to wait 30 minutes plus for our table. Pls see the bar comment above. ;-)
