I cannot count the times we have driven to the top of Charlotte Pass and enjoyed this view, whether it be snowing or frosted or blazing blue skies. Parking is limited, there are toilets and incredible views.

Thredbo Village whilst famous as a winter ski resort is also a great place to visit in summer. Walk around the shops, enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants, take a chairlift ride up the Crackenback Express or enjoy the thrill of the bobsled ride.

I've been to Perisher Valleyto ski in recent years, and have always benefitted from taking some lessons there. The Snowsports school lessons can be booked ahead on line (which attracts a discount); they cater to all levels of ability - from first timers to advanced - and group (including Max6) as well as private instruction options. The instructors come from many countries, but all are fluent in English and excellent at what they do. (Last week I was delighted to be in Elke V.'s small group - she's from Bulgaria and was terrific!) Fortunately the terrain at Perisher allows plenty of variety in the lessons, and an opportunity to be guided around the vast ski field. While lessons are not cheap, I recommend them as a good investment in the future skiing confidence and enjoyment you'll gain. (BTW, there are classes for snowboarders too.)

We’ve been going to Charlotte Pass for almost 40 years - it’s a tiny ski village at the top of Australia.... only 4 lifts plus a magic carpet for the beginner kids - the place is totally geared for families and has the heritage listed Kosciuszko Chalet plus a few club lodges for accommodation - There is great tree skiing for the more accomplished skiers plus lots of groomed runs - only accessible by oversnow from Perisher - it’s a bit of a mission getting in there - but so worth it once you’re there - just a fantastic place

So many areas and trails to ski, and suitable for all levels - from novice to advanced. And they offer from Perisher a terrific bargain - an over70s Season Pass!

My family just spent a week in Lucy lodge, the room was clean had a beautiful view and the heater cracked! I wasn't a fan of the Chinese lunch meals at Lucy but my partner and children loved them . The food at Stilwell was great and they had daily specials... the food at the chalet.... AMAZING!!! My youngest and I had lessons each morning with the lovely Thea- she was great! Anyone lucky enough to get there for the end of this season I def recommend her. The biggest thing I could whinge about was the coffee... not sure what beans they are using but I I actually preferred the instant coffees. The whole resort was completely covid safe, hygiene marshals enforcing numbers and social distancing which was reassuring. The staff from the lifties , instructors, hire staff, food staff, the doctor were all great. The snow was amazing, the runs were great. First year at Charlotte's pass and I can not wait to return next season!
