Buxa Fort is within the Buxa Tiger Reserve Forest in Alipurduar. We three including a 66 years' old person started our on 15th February, 2019 by Saraighat Express. Nextday morning we reached New Alipur Duar and from there we took an auto rickshaw for Govt. Bus Terminus. But the bus we missed and it was the only bus ply from there to Jayanti. Lastly we hired an auto rickshaw upto "Raja Bhat Khawa", the entry place for Buxa Tiger Reserve Forest. After taking permission from the Forest Office we hired another Auto Rickshaw for Santrabari. There we had our breakfast and took a guide for Buxa Fort. We started our trek at 10:15 a.m. and reached the Buxa Fort by 12:30 p.m. The trail was picturesque. At first it was slight steep after one hour of trek it was comparatively easy. The road was stony with sharp bends and ups and downs. We found one or two tea stalls on the way where we took a little rest and tea. At 12:30 we reached the beautiful and historical place Buxa Fort. It is on a little high hill. We spent there 30 minutes and recollected the history of Indian Freedom Struggle. Few cells of the fort still are there but in a very neglected manner. Authorities should take measure to keep it as it is. There is a village near to the Fort and there are few Home Stays for the tourists. Our destination was "Lepcha kha", so we left Buxa Fort spending 30 minutes there.
