Visited here 5th October 2018. Visited over 30 ancient cities on our recent tour of Turkey, and this was definitely one of the most interesting and had a good variety of building types from several era. Easily accessible archeological site bisected by the D400 Road. Active excavations are ongoing. Mosaics from different era are visible. Mosaics from around 1st century AD have been covered (and are now being uncovered) by newer mosaic tiles from the 5th century AD. Well signposted. We were fortunate enough to get a tour from the archeologist in charge. Definitely worth stopping here.

We viewed the castle from the shore and didn't take a boat ride to visit it. It appears to be partially restored but it's still quite a sight. We found that the best photos were in the afternoon when the sun lit the castle up in a brilliant white color. The morning photos were dark and all washed out since the sun at this time was directly behind the castle. So try to go later in the day for the best photos.
