Reviews on Seafood food in Trondheim, Central Norway, Norway. Norway's capital of technology, the university town of Trondheim is a tech junkie's paradise and a history nerd's dream. The 11th-century Nidarosdomen Cathedral is the national sanctuary of Norway, and the Royal Residence is the largest wooden palace in Scandanavia. Fast-forward several centuries, and SINTEF science research center is doing some of the world's most important work in environmentally-friendly technologies. Nearby skiing is world-class, with World Cup winter sports competitions held regularly at Granåsen.

Troll will serve you Norwegian cuisine in a rebellious way and is located on Fosenkaia, a central pier in Trondheim. Although first and foremost a place for finer dining, our restaurant also holds a small stage and a fantastic outdoors patio. We are creat
We booked ahead for our first night in Trondheim. The restaurant was busy but we were seated quickly and with a friendly welcome and a menu in English. The three course and five course menus were described. We chose the 3 course menu - excellent thin slices of roast reindeer (described as roast beef of moose), lovely piece of halibut, and almond wanna cotta with berries (NOK 398 pp).Wine and beer choices were plentiful. A glass of wine averages around £10. I chose a glass of good Riesling, which was very pleasant.Although service was quick, we were not rushed and it was a great start to our holiday.

During my three weeks in Trondheim, this restaurant had the best meal during my time there. I had the fortune to dine just as their Christmas menu was released. My choice for the evening was the pan seared duck. This meal was expertly prepared and one off the best duck dishes I have had anywhere. The wait staff was friendly and happy to translate the menu for me (there was no English menu at this restaurant). This was a great choice for a fine dining experience of authentic Norwegian cuisine.Thank you for your review, we highly appreciate it and are glad to hear you had a great experience at Havfruen.Welcome back!Sincerely, Team havfruen.
