Fresh and delicious tuna at a reasonable price! This is the best food we tried in Manado and we visited twice! Try their 45k tuna set meal which comes with deliciously garlic kangkong and rice. You can try their local tuna bumbu, with its distinct taste, but we actually didnt like it. tuna 45k + kangkong + bintang is the best late night dinner at this place! warning - their sambal/chili is REALLY HOT! very friendly staff as well.

City Extra is big seafood restaurant, just outside Manado, on the water. Sunset is amazing, I advise to get yourself a beer, looking at the ocean and Manado Tua and Bunaken Island and chill out. The seafood is super fresh, simply grilled or with some manadonese sauces. Strongly recommended the crab, very tasty, or a grilled grouper. Dip a bite in some fresh sambal or dabu-dabu iris if you like to get the right spicy kick!Cold beers (not always granted in Manado) and reasonable price. Friendly staff, even if sometimes not very well trained and slightly lazy.

Sate is average, could have been better if the mini grill where it is served with really keeps it warm. Gado gado here is excellent, but note that it's a huge serving. Mee goreng is also good. Nasi goreng is average. Grilled tuna on teriyaki sauce is also average.

Wisata Bahari serves fresh seafood from the tanks, we tried ordering their fresh crab and lobsters besides a few other dishes. The crab saus padang and cheese lobsters were fresh and taste quite good. The lobsters are really expensive though. The veggies were nice but chicken was just average. The ambience was not good, conditions of the restaurant are not in their best shape. The layout is quite cramp outside and also not smell good. Itâs also very noisy with chinese tourists and cheap karaoke system and singers. We were sitting outside but not much you can see during dinner time like this. Cleanliness is not too good, and you can also see some rats running around on the side of the restaurant.Services are slow and poor. Foods were served one after another so quite difficult to enjoy the complete dishes, even rice took quite some time to arrive. And it took very long for the waiters to attend to your request even the simple one. I believe this restaurant should have provided much better cleanliness, ambience and services considering the prices they charge.

Where to eat Indonesian food in Tomohon: The Best Restaurants and Bars
I lived in Tomohon for 9 months, and after traveling and trying tons of local restaurants, this one hands down has the best fish and rica-rica / dabu-dabu / sambal spicy sauce, in the region and even Indonesia. The fresh water fish is grown right there in the surrounding man-made lake. Its fresh, its delicious, cannot be missed.
