A wonderful mix of remnants from its Roman and medieval pasts, Spoleto’s history actually goes back further to Bronze Age Umbria. Today, it’s best known for its annual summer Festival dei Due Mondi (Festival of Two Worlds or Spoleto Festival), honoring music, opera, theater and dance. Among the city’s many excellent historic sights are its first-century Roman amphitheatre, the 12th-century Duomo, 13th-century Ponte delle Torri aqueduct and the 14th-century hilltop fortress, Rocca Albornoziana.

Recommended by our accommodation, this is a very friendly restaurant specialising in local products. We were warmly welcomed and Pep, the chef, came to say hello (speaks English) and explain the options. Two in our party of six have eating restrictions and he was happy to suggest and cook for each individual. In fact, we got the impression he would prepare whatever we wanted to order as long as the ingredients were at hand.Had a wonderful entree of mixed local specialities including truffle infused omelette, stuffed zucchini flower, artichoke, cavallonero, etc. Mains we had were equally delicious including fish, rabbit, pork, asparagus pasta dishes. Followed by a variety of deserts including the best lemon gelato any of us could remember tasting. With excellent local wine (Montefalco) the waiter recommended. Completed dinner with a warming local walnut liqueur. Not so easy to find down a potholed lane but all part of the experience. Thanks for your vote if you found this helpful.

This is a very nice restaurant close to Bruna. Easily to reach from the road between Spoleto and Bruna. We always take here friends for dinner and they have some very nice dishes. Pizza are a bit salty, but tasty. In summer you should try to get a seat on the terrace and enjoy the brilliant view of the Spoleto valley. Gradually when twilight comes in all the small lights in the valley flare up. It gives a very romantic view. However, when you ask for the bill, count on at least 20 minutes waiting time, because the boss himself does the calculating and he needs some time ...

A friendly and informative host presides over this attractive outdoor garden setting in the heart of Spoleto. The host opened a bottle of the outstanding Sagrantino di Montefalco 2007 from Pozzo del Curato to serve us two glasses of it. We had two somewhat unusual first courses, a soup of Umbrian legumes with guanciale and peperoncino, and scrambled eggs with truffles. The soup was incredibly rich, with several different kinds of beans and lentils. The eggs were a new experience for us, with the finely minced truffles fully integrated in the flavor--a real winner. The pleasant surprises continued with the main courses. Sausage with smoked mozzarella (scamorza) melted on top? I didnât know what to expect, but this was great, accompanied by a plain green salad. My partner had the lamb sous vide al tartufo. Once again, we didnât know quite what to expect from lamb sous vide, being prejudiced in favor of grilling (we like the flavor of the fat on grilled lamb), but this tender cut of lamb was full of flavor yet allowed the truffle to have its say too--and the fat tasted good.We ended the meal with yet another surprise, an excellent Umbrian amaro recommended by the host: Vallenera. We recommend this restaurant highly for quality, service, and its promotion of local products.

Get there early if they do not have the whole formal restaurant open. This place gets crowded fast. Our whole dinner, with wine, was 65 e for 2 and well worth it.

felt guilty going to a sushi restaurant in spoleto but had to check it out based on the great reviews. It was excellent. I would go back again. Both the sushi and tempura were excellent. Also the dolci chocolate cake and the lime creme were delicious. I enjoyed the prosecco with sushi.

Thereâs so much to say about this incredible Restaurant completely specializing in Fish and Seafood. My family of 6 adults and one child happened upon it and were so happy we did. It is run by the Owner/Chef who drives to Naples to get the fish and seafood and cooks the most flavorsome incredible dishes Iâve experienced in a seafood Restaurant. We chose 2 plates of grilled Prawns in Balsamic and they were heaven! Also prawn and calamari fried in a very light tempura batter with fresh lemon. Linguini with lobster and a tomato base sauce and Gnoccetti with prawns in a stunning sauce, and fried Cod in a light batter that was so good, my brother in law ordered another portion. Although they didnât have a child menu they made a pasta with tomato base sauce and she loved it. The most incredible ending was the Rum Baba. My God ! Devine is not enough to describe it. It was heavenly We spoke to the young Owner/Chef and his passion for his craft is palpable. Together with his English speaking partner they have a winning combination and we encourage anyone into their seafood to go and enjoy the experience. Awesome Thank you Dereks. If you come again in Spoleto we waiting for you.
